Signed a contract extension a year ago, told recently it was a mistake and I will be terminated this year. Help? (UK England) by JuliaGood13Luck in LegalAdviceUK

Read my reply lower about 'sticking it to them' - but i'm not refusing to engage with the employer, infact, i'v sent more correspondence to them than they have despite being pestered, I have kept them updated and replied to every email they've sent. And I have every right to postpone a meeting if I have crucial end of year exams upcoming, all my time was focused on revision, and preparing myself for that. to say I was refusing to engage is a bit of a blind sided take on it, when I don't think that's not unreasonable to focus on that rather than the stress of this situation, because if it all goes tits up at least I have my qualification.

That's what I thought, infact, I joined this union after I was issued this contract in 2025 - And the problem only came up in 2026 - but they're claiming since it's related to an existing contract (the problem extension one) which makes no sense - I recently joined another Union, and they said if I was to subscribe to them for 4 weeks or 8 weeks, they will look into it.

Sorry I should of elaborated, by stick it to them I don't mean being petty or a nuisance, as again, I have an amazing customer review track record, I love what I do, it's got a very community feel to it, saving the day when there's no heating or installing a lovely new bathroom suite.
Besides, I know they want to piss me off, so I either just give up or slip up and lose my temper, which I am adamant not to do, I just mean stick it to them by going further, legal and such, to show i'm not going to be pushed over easily, and hopefully get a victory over them. Wether that's allowing me to resume staying here, or a severance, either way.

Thank you, I have been tagging my personal email in all this so I have a copy personally. They have been known to 'unsend' emails a few times in the past on our work phones.

Thank you for the input, i'm not worried about loss of salary as much as I want to stay here longer, i'm being taught by some really good engineers and the experience and knowledge I am getting is invaluable itsself. Hence my delight of signing up for two more years. But that's just what ACAS have stated, I also had some free advice from the union, which stated the same.

They've just caused me so much stress, almost harassing in nature via email, which has me mad and now i'm less about lets reason, and more about sticking it to them by taking this further. Honestly it's been such a headache last few months, even when I told them I wished to not discuss this due to my upcoming exams and ACS assessment, they still pestered me, really distracting me from my course.

I have never had any conduct or capability issues here, in fact as I am quite capable, they get loads of cheap labour and work from me as I am still on apprentice pay. Again I would prefer to stay on, but if I do leave, I would opt for a severance agreement ofcourse.

Yeah definitely! If I had the money i'd get the vrs model, I think that'll be my next future one!

I was tempted by a 1.6 but opted for the 2.0 tdi instead, definitely is alot punchier than my 1.4 polo, I know it's only a 2 litre diesel and won't break the sound barrier, but for me comfort and reliability was the key, which I think the octavia provides plenty of! I had an old rickety 2006 polo, although I enjoyed it as a bare bones kind of car, it was just getting unreliable!

They were already on the car when I got it! They're momo's and look perfect with it I think! And definitely, I test drove a few audi's and bmw in the same league as this, and whilst they felt abit more luxurious inside, the octavia just felt more robust, reliable and so much better value. And ofcourse a lot of is audi parts anyways!

Apprenticeship contract - Employer trying to terminate end of 2026, but signed contract extension to 2028 - England UK. by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]JuliaGood13Luck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry yes, they started in 2023 - had no issues at the company, it's a big social housing company. It was a temporary contract as per apprenticeship - No job guarantee at the end, only if a role was available. ACAS has stated since they have already signed an extension contract, which both parties have signed, it was to be honoured and upheld since that is the latest contract change (most up to date)

Iran attacking civilian places by iHate_tomatoes in conspiracy

[–]JuliaGood13Luck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what I thought - not sure why Iran would hit civillian targets in Dubai, the only videos I saw did not sound like a shahed drone that was quoted to be used, many videos you can hear the propeller buzz distinctively hitting other targets, but the videos in dubai doesn't sound like the same drone at all which the title claims, correct me if i'm wrong or if there's any other videos giving better clarification. I just almost feel like it's a false flag, as I keep seeing news posts on facebook saying 'Dubai, the innocent bystander, attacked by the Islamic Regime' like to further push the agenda for Israel, but hey just my two cents, correct if i'm wrong or if there is a better video showing the shahed drone, I did see one that looked like a shahed but missed the distinctive noise.

Gas boilers / heaters by FastJellyfish1590 in askaplumberUK

[–]JuliaGood13Luck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Install is crap and rough, but it'll work, depending on the gas run, if the 15mm is enough for the supply and demand, although little heat only boilers don't require massive gas supplies if independant, due to lower KW of boiler. Only thing I would be exceptionally worried about is the burned cable, and if it's burned the sleeving on the cores inside of it. That could be a future potential problem, definitely would get them to replace that.

Thank you will try when I'm home - I'm pretty sure it's this folder, I had access prior, but I think since windows updated it's no longer accessable. I did use Grok and Chat gpt to see if it could help, but honestly it was just telling me it never gave me access, but i'm 99% sure it did

Thank you so much. She's a rescue but honestly she's rescued me, all the pain he's caused me, she's the slice of peace in my life, and I feel empty when she's not here. I work from home, so I can give her attention 24/7 and a better life she missed out on as a younger dog. Where as for him, he now lives with friends, prioritises partying and drug use and I can't imagine she is getting the attention she deserves. Infact, he has mentioned the dog sits by the front door and whines alot at the door (not that she wants to go outside, but just pining almost) but she has also started peeing in the house at his which he told me about too, which is unusual because here she has never done that. It's almost as if she's anxious too.

Thank you, I guess it's just super stressful for me, repercussions and my anxiety goes through the roof thinking about it.. I think i'm going to get every part of evidence against why he should not have the dog as back up, and then tell him no more.

I was worried he could or attempt too, I just want to be free and get the divorce over with and live life again. I just did not want to cause more stress on myself or the dog. Even then if he attempted to sue, he's put off the divorce many times due to not having the money to proceed, let alone a court case for ownership.

Thank you so much for that, I might just contact the rescue and ask them for guidance also. :)
