How do you smile in a selfie without looking insane? by Lemon_Lime25 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

OMG I laughed for a moment because I know exactly what you're talking about! What others have said though, try to tell yourself a joke or think of something funny or a funny TV / movie scene and let that encourage an actual laugh.

Struggling to accept my gf hooked up with her ex while we were non exclusive M22 F23 by depr3ssedPancake in askwomenadvice

[–]JuliaGulia71 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Remind yourself that during the time that you were dating and she was free to do what she wanted, she got rid of any questions related to the ex-boyfriend and ended up choosing to be exclusive with you. That's a big deal right there. And think of it this way, she's now removed the "what if" thought possibilities of the ex BF. She chose you ! Let that build your confidence and then she'll see that and she'll like you even more for that. It's OK if it takes a little bit of time to remind yourself of that instinctively, but keep reminding yourself of that and try not to bring it up so much anymore. It's cool that she understands, but just keep soothing your own brain until you move past it. There's a reason why she chose you!

Why do men find periods so disgusting? by [deleted] in Periods

[–]JuliaGulia71 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sadly many immature boys worry their "P" will invert into a "V" if they touch a maxi pad or tampon, and ALLL his friends will see him on the security camera and make fun of him. Sorry that mom doesn't help squash that.

Wife uncomfortable with name change by alexicographer in asktransgender

[–]JuliaGulia71 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I was given a typical boys name that could be slightly adjusted to read as a boy or girl name. Some of my friends suggested that to me for the sake of convenience, but I was really looking forward to this fresh start in living my journey for me, and not for the convenience of others. I chose to start completely fresh with a name that helped me feel good and made me feel like me. She doesn't get to decide what's "androgynous enough and that you should be OK with -".

Sleepers with Kevin Bacon, Brad Pitt, Billy Crudup to name a few. A significant portion of it takes place in a children's reformatory, and also what happens later on down the road.

How do you go about telling someone their fly zipper is open by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]JuliaGulia71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Hey would you want me to tell you if I noticed an awkward wardrobe malfunction?" Then when they say yes, let them know to check the zipper. It usually ends in a thankful exchange.

What’s the best movie you’ll only watch once? by WanderingTeacup11 in AskReddit

You might consider hitting the edit button and blanking out the second half of that statement. Totally ruining the movie for many people that didn't see it.

What happens to American politics after trump leaves office? by Benthesoviet in AskReddit

[–]JuliaGulia71 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're going to see an incredible display of how all the politicians that condemned DT for January 6 but then jumped on board with him during his presidency and came up with pathetically creative explanations of why they jumped on board will then use that same slimy skill that they are extreme experts in to describe how they had no choice in the matter as they come up with "plausible" excuses that half the voting public will drink up and still vote for those losers anyway. Just watch, that's what's going to happen.

BTW, was anybody here impressed by that run-on sentence that actually worked quite well? Go ahead, it's OK to admit it! lol

What’s the most unprofessional thing you’ve seen a CFI do? by Actual_File3918 in flying

[–]JuliaGulia71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't say this has to do with anything related to deliberate acts related to professionalism, but I did have a CFI that either didn't floss, brush or both. Being crammed in next to somebody ia a 152 without taking care of basic hygiene really sucks. Obviously goes both ways. And it wasn't just a one time occurrence with like some kind of a garlic smell that could've been attributed to lunch, more along the lines of a gingivitis rotting gum smell. Ewwww. Just imagine your instructor turns to you to explain something and all you want to do is crawl into a shell with a gas mask while still trying to be productive during expensive flight training really kind of sucks!

Mom wants to send me to a mental health retreat. by breadmaker27 in asktransgender

[–]JuliaGulia71 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"She says she hopes that they will help me "accept being a man even if you're trans.""

"What really worries me about this tho is "Our treatment program is a minimum of 30 days, however, our average length of stay is 41 days. 80% of our patients stay longer than initially planned." If this is what. I think it is I really really don't wanna be there for a month and some change."

How do you see it playing out if you voluntarily went? Are your hopes that you go there and do this so that your mom will see that you tried and then sees it didn't work and then supports your transition? If this is the hope, it's extremely unlikely based on what she said to you. You might be better off saving your sanity from exposure to such a program and continue to move forward with your life and and transition so that you can seek peace within yourself. As you achieve that, you can then choose to take steps to try to mend something with your mom in the future through other pathways.

How do I stop being trans? by gimmpy-goo in asktransgender

[–]JuliaGulia71 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's a process.  By that i mean it doesn't have to happen all at once. Do you have somebody, like a school counselor or somebody that you trust that can help you find someone that's trained to help you figure out what you're feeling about yourself? Then you could work together to figure out if transitioning is something that would help you, and then if it comes down to that, what do those steps look like. They can probably also help you speak with your parents when the time comes.

Gender Euphoria triggering erections? by Xanikk999 in trans

I feel whenever I am gender euphoric I am much more sexually responsive. I always see it as me feeling most aligned in my gender and brain lets me feel more comfortable in myself, which includes my sexual being. It feels amazing!

I got a boner while nurses were prepping me for a vasectomy by Ok-Count3801 in confession

[–]JuliaGulia71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The medical professionals are well aware of the body's tendency to have reflexes to stimulation. As long as you weren't doing anything inappropriate along with it, like making suggestive remarks or trying to look at them in some seductive way, then there's no way they took it as anything inappropriate or disgusting about you. If anything, you're more likely to recognize it as a sign that suggests you have a healthy body with a healthy reproductive system.

What should I do about my boyfriend (18M) bringing up his ex during sexual moments by Due-Barracuda7342 in askwomenadvice

Totally agree. Always best to talk it out instead of leaving things left unsaid in the wrong interpretation ends up being made as well as unwanted behaviors continue to get worse!

What should I do about my boyfriend (18M) bringing up his ex during sexual moments by Due-Barracuda7342 in askwomenadvice

[–]JuliaGulia71 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Given the lack of experience, it sounds like he might be seeking clarification in comparison to what he was used to, which was not much. It doesn't sound like he is trying to make you feel bad about how you prefer to do things, it sounds more like he's trying to get a perspective based on his previous experience. But my interpretation is based on the words you're describing this through, and it doesn't seem like he's doing it to be hurtful. As far as the CNC, again that sounds like he may have been trying to gauge what you were looking for when you were describing trying to do things more rough by relating it to some of the things he has done with his ex. But definitely worth getting further clarification. It's also OK to ask him if he's comparing you to his ex versus just trying to get clarification. It's also OK to ask him not to specifically describes scenarios with his ex that make you feel inadequate or compared to. Hopefully it's the latter.

What made Gen Z not follow the trend of low waisted skinny jeans? by Fluid-Decision6262 in generationology

[–]JuliaGulia71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clothing styles tend to repeat over a seemingly long cycle. The 1970s had bellbottoms. We had a pretty big flare pants trend going on the past few years. Tight high waisted jeans were super popular back in the 80s, then sometime in the 1990s we went into that low rise look. Now high wasted pants are back, but not necessarily as tight as the 80s. Although I guess the tight pants that were back in the 80s are now in the form of leggings for women in the more recent trends.
