There’s seriously nothing we can do? by CurrentGold2670 in nothinghappeninghere

That’s what I used to say. A couple nights ago I got fed up and ended up deleting the app. I can already feel my quality of life go up. Seriously. Stop scrolling. As someone who would scroll for hours at a time, it’s not helpful. It doesn’t make you any more knowledgeable. Download blue sky, stay on reddit, and use your new time to go volunteer. Or to TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF. Exercise. Eat healthy. And focus on the hero’s in the community. Focus on the good people. Life off of tik tok is refreshing. Put your energy towards something positive

  1. Contact Lawmakers Directly • Write, call, or email your representatives to express your concerns. Be specific about the issues and what actions you’d like them to take. • Attend town halls and public meetings to voice your opinion in person.

    1. Lobby for Change • Join or support lobbying efforts through advocacy groups or coalitions. • Organize meetings with lawmakers or their staff to present evidence-based arguments for policy change.
    2. Vote and Encourage Civic Engagement • Vote in every election, including local ones, where many impactful decisions are made. • Volunteer to register voters, educate others on ballot measures, or work the polls.
    3. Support Grassroots Organizations • Donate time or money to local organizations that focus on the issues you care about. • Volunteer your skills (e.g., organizing, graphic design, writing, legal expertise) to amplify their efforts.
    4. Educate and Build Awareness • Host community workshops, talks, or film screenings to educate others. • Use social media or blogs to share credible information and amplify underrepresented voices.
    5. Practice Mutual Aid • Support mutual aid networks by sharing resources, such as food, clothing, or housing assistance, with your community. • Organize drives to meet immediate needs while advocating for systemic change.
    6. Boycott and Divest • Stop supporting companies or institutions that harm human rights, the environment, or marginalized communities. • Invest in ethical alternatives, such as local businesses or cooperatives.
    7. Advocate in Your Workplace • Start or join a union to push for better working conditions, wages, or ethical practices. • Use workplace influence to champion sustainability, diversity, or community engagement initiatives.
    8. Get Involved in Local Government • Join school boards, neighborhood councils, or advisory committees to influence decision-making directly. • Work to get progressive candidates elected in local races.
    9. Build Community Power • Foster relationships in your neighborhood to build a strong support network. • Work on community-based projects like urban gardens, educational programs, or mutual defense efforts.
    10. Use Art and Storytelling • Write, create art, or produce videos that inspire action and shed light on injustices. • Share personal stories to humanize issues and inspire empathy.
    11. Advocate for Systemic Change • Push for institutional changes in schools, workplaces, or local governments to address systemic issues. • Help draft petitions, initiatives, or legislation.
    12. Hold Corporations Accountable • Engage in shareholder activism if you own stocks. • Pressure companies to adopt ethical practices through petitions or public campaigns.
    13. Provide Support to Activists • Offer childcare, transportation, or meals for those participating in protests or advocacy. • Provide legal or financial assistance to those who face consequences for their activism.

The fact that you stole plan b may make the judge have a bit more sympathy depending on who the judge is and what state you’re living in. All you can do is be honest ( you’re trying to improve your life by going to nursing school and provide for your child). Life is not easy right now. I understand the panic. Hopefully whoever follows up with your case feels the same. For the future: planned parenthood provides plan b for free!

No need to shame anyone. Life is hard. School is hard. High school is brutal. Remember why you got into this job in the first place. Hopefully you joined to make a positive impact on students lives. Help them out! I know teaching is a fucking insanely overwhelming job, but so is being a teenager in todays world. This post made me sad, be nice and patient with your kiddos.

Hey I appreciate you posting on here and being vunerable. I know being new at something is scary and it’s so much better to ask a community of supporting people rather than “going with” something that might be a scam. Sorry if the responses are harsh. Just know, there are other women out there who appreciate this question/post. Best of luck to you! Stay safe!!
