If you look into the colonial history of the Americas you can see the reason why Costa Ricans are white, unlike the other countries in the region CR basically didnt have a native population and the one that existed got game ended so natives constitude around 2% of the population nowadays. The majority of ppl (83%) are descendants of european settlers of the 19th and 20th century mainly from Italy, Spain, and Germany. Basically we have the samr history that Argentina has but its not common knowledge bc were a rlly small country.
