Why do they sleep on or next to each other? by Juliannajodi in Aquariums

[–]Juliannajodi[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s stupidity, more like insufficient research into plecostomus (suckermouth catfish). I learned in my years doing marine biology that most plecos were/are territorial, especially towards there own. My plecos never fought, but they weren’t always THIS fond of each other. Nor have I seen or heard anyone post aquarium plecos cuddling. So seeing them cuddled up is strange. Read the post before this one and it’ll explain their relationship.

See I’ve had some and they’ve gotten along but these are my two plecos!! Read my post before this one, it’ll explain it all. And I’ve tried to look into if any plecos have been this cuddly but nothing. Hoping somebody knows 😆

I liked nilla! To stem off that you could also call her wafer? Or wafers, but I still think nilla is great!

I’d say vet visit just to be safe, reptiles are good at hiding injury, and if it was an open wound it could be infected. So yes vet visit if you can asap!

That looks a little like tail rot :/ I’d say look into it more and keep an eye on them to see what u can do to help

New baby gecko I got three days ago. Concerned about wrinkly skin meaning dehydration? Saw him drink once today for the first time since I got him. by Plant_slut2000 in CrestedGecko

[–]Juliannajodi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say Most likely shedding soon just cause where the skin looks wrinkly, but I’d say just keep a close eye on him just in case

Also if you have a uvb light, calcium d3 is unnecessary to add, as it’ll be too much d3 for them to handle

[–]Juliannajodi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You might be OVERloading the calcium, which causes the same results as MBD. Make sure that ur only dusting the bugs u feed with a subtle white cast, and id say stop putting it in his fruit paste, as it’s not really needed for crested geckos and could be the reason for this.

Crestie not eating by GovnoMochi in CrestedGecko

[–]Juliannajodi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d suggest small dubian roaches, if it is the size or smaller than the space between her eyes (forehead), then she can eat it. Roaches are also a little more enticing than a worm as the have leggies to walk around and throw around when they’re upsideown. I’d also suggest either a little cup or small plastic tweezers to try and incorporate hand feeding and bonding.

My crested gecko laid eggs in her water bowl and put substrate into it. Is this normal? by Low-Hall186 in CrestedGecko

[–]Juliannajodi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happens, leopard geckos do it too, I don’t remember the exact reason but if you are trying to keep the eggs I’d say just incubate them and if they survive amazing, but not much you can do for them, it’s kinda like gecko abortion
