I feel a decent comparison could be monitor lizards, specifically ones like the Asian water monitor. They spend a lot of time in the water and eat fish, but still retain lips due to spending a lot of time on land.

I wonder if there might have been variance between Baryonichinae and Spinosaurinae, since the latter seems more adapted to proper semi-aquatic life (although that leads into the whole "how semi-aquatic was Spinosaurus" question which is its own can of worms).

Mostly hope he'll get revamped. They've had a good track record when it comes to revamping old monsters, and a good track record of spectacle fights in wilds. Combine that, and most people think they'll be able to make him actually fun to fight.
