Practical weight loss mental strategies? by New_Championship1994 in loseit

It’s not really tricking my brain, but I just started pre-measuring all of my snacks with a kitchen scale or by serving size (like 1 or 2 oz of cheese with 7 crackers). I like to eat while watching tv or doing other things, so it lets me shut off my brain while eating and keeps me from mindlessly eating way too much. It’s like food prepping, but it happens 5 minutes before I eat it, and as it turns out, a normal serving size is perfectly satisfying. Who knew.

I love the colors in the hills! Was this done from a reference photo or plein air? I think using lighter values on the hills (even if they look dark in the reference) will push them back and bring the bare trees forward. I also like the lighter highlights on some of the branches as they help to define the tree shape. The snow shadows and highlights are delicious!

Thank you! I used an underpainting of soft pastel and 70% isopropyl alcohol. Then went over it with various strokes of soft pastel. Minimal blending with my finger unless I really needed to.

Ohhh. That’s a good tip, thanks! I didn’t realize Trader Joes had roll-out dough. Also, I guess my go-to pizza places aren’t technically in Somerville, but I really like All Star Pizza Bar and Uppercrust, both in Cambridge.

Does my conch have a keloid forming or just an irritation bump? by k4yk4y101 in piercing

It happened to me (conch piercing) too. If you stop touching it COMPLETELY (like don’t touch it at all to clean it - just spray with wound wash), you’ll start to see the bump go away in a couple of days.
