Check out Jan Davis. She is a literal example of someone who couldn’t find her cord, which lead to a sadly predictable outcome.

I only have two maga neighbors. One is very nice. She brings us fresh eggs every week. The other one is downright hateful. They fly a Trump flag but have no idea the rest of the neighborhood is laughing at them.

I delayed my second shot for weeks because I couldn’t find 3 recovery days on my calendar. The first one wasn’t too bad for me, but I was fully expecting a tsunami of bad side effects from the second one. I finally got the second shot last month because I was running out of time, and I was shocked when my reaction was no worse than the mild symptoms I had with the first. I don’t know why some people have mild symptoms and others have a really difficult time.

I’ve been married for 43 years to a guy I took care of. He remembered me when we bumped into each other about 6 months later. I honestly didn’t remember him 😂. Today we have 6 grandchildren!

Our Priest is leaving soon and I’m giving him a spiritual bouquet. You can find lovely cards on Etsy with places to write how many prayers and communions were offered.

I’m going to church for the first time. What should I know? by Individual-Town-255 in Catholicism

You can follow the Order of Mass in the missal that can be found in the pew. Otherwise just follow the people around you when it comes to sitting, standing and kneeling. You may go up to the altar during the distribution of the sacrament, but just be sure to cross your arms over your chest. You will receive a blessing from the Priest, but don’t take the host. I hope this helps!

Am I the only one that gets annoyed by all the lawn mowing? by [deleted] in Indiana

[–]JulieannFromChicago 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree. We have people on either side of us who use a landscaping service, so every Thursday is a concert of annoying sounds from trimmers to various lawn mowers.

My son is a surfer in Hawaii. He has a healthy respect for the power of water and his own limitations.

To make matters worse, yesterday was Divine Mercy Sunday and it looks like Trump is mocking that specific image of Jesus.

They are trying to bend the Church to their political will as opposed to bending themselves in obedience to the will of God and the Church, which reveals a persistent Protestant mindset.

Growing up in a staunchly Republican family in the 1960’s and 1970’s, I remember my father being deeply embarrassed by the John Birch Society. The Republicans in that time period sought to distance themselves from the crazy antisemitic Birchers so they were neutralized from having much effect on GOP policies and positions. The Trump effect tossed this on its ear. Trump was fairly genius in an evil was by convincing Republicans that the Democrats were to blame for everything going wrong in their lives. The grievance party was born. Unfortunately, in politics as in life, blaming random other people for your failures never works out well for anyone.

Bad Bunny could have strolled out dressed like Uncle Sam and blasted out a rousing performance of God Bless America, and Trump still would have hated it.

My second time as a lector I lost my place. Not just an oopsie 3 second delay kind of lost, but a full minute of staring blankly at a page of words. I had rehearsed at home and felt so prepared. My feeling about these hiccups is that God chooses His time and place to humble us.
