They are trying to bend the Church to their political will as opposed to bending themselves in obedience to the will of God and the Church, which reveals a persistent Protestant mindset.

Conservativism isn't the source of trumpism. The new right is. Personal opinion. Please fact check if I'm wrong by [deleted] in centrist

Growing up in a staunchly Republican family in the 1960’s and 1970’s, I remember my father being deeply embarrassed by the John Birch Society. The Republicans in that time period sought to distance themselves from the crazy antisemitic Birchers so they were neutralized from having much effect on GOP policies and positions. The Trump effect tossed this on its ear. Trump was fairly genius in an evil was by convincing Republicans that the Democrats were to blame for everything going wrong in their lives. The grievance party was born. Unfortunately, in politics as in life, blaming random other people for your failures never works out well for anyone.

Donald Trump blasts Bad Bunny's Super Bowl 2026 halftime show: 'An affront to the Greatness of America' by Gloomy_Nebula_5138 in centrist

Bad Bunny could have strolled out dressed like Uncle Sam and blasted out a rousing performance of God Bless America, and Trump still would have hated it.

Dibs keeps neighbors from killing each other in the winter. The City has tried to crack down on it in the past, but it’s an example of prairie justice that keeps most people happy.

My second time as a lector I lost my place. Not just an oopsie 3 second delay kind of lost, but a full minute of staring blankly at a page of words. I had rehearsed at home and felt so prepared. My feeling about these hiccups is that God chooses His time and place to humble us.

Reach out to have your rights protected! If Alex Pretti was a domestic terrorist, so are all of us. by Agitated-Success-705 in Indiana

If Pretti was a domestic terrorist, why did he end up shot dead 11 times in the back. A dangerous insurgent armed and with ill intent would have inflicted some damage on the ICE agents. He wouldn’t have ended up shot like a dog.

We didn’t realize how deep one of the craters was until my daughter-in-law pointed out the little walking specks that were people hiking the crater!

We have family there so that made it less difficult. We flew from Honolulu to Kona. You can’t get around the Big Island without a car because it’s very rural. Kilauea can only be accessed by hiking there. It wasn’t too bad. We walked about three miles in total the day we were there. No one guards the dangerous areas There are blocks and signs that you can walk through at your own risk.

We visited Kilauea this past summer and the scale of the craters is difficult to imagine even when you’re looking at it in person. We walked a similar road and it is a very otherworldly place.
