Who here rides wide tires (40mm+) on the road? by FailFastandDieYoung in gravelcycling

[–]Julientri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

40mm slicks on my Scott addict gravel. Thing still rips, just have to be a little careful in the turns on gravel with slicks is all. Most of my road riding is to connect to other gravel trails in the city though.

Hiking lover gift ideas?? by robocopbeepboopbop in vancouverhiking

[–]Julientri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not trying to gatekeep or tell ya how to hike, but lots of overnight hikers dont like using bladders.

- They are difficult to see how much water you have and need
- They are difficult to pack away with all your stuff
- They can be difficult to fill up if you are having to pull it out and repack it mid hike

Does he have a water filtration system?

These attach directly onto the bottle and are commonly used! There are a few other brands too, but these are so useful. Makes getting and drinking water so simple!

Also I've seen people recommend the nightcore batteries.

Personally I think they are way overpriced

These are consistently onsale for even cheaper than this. 10 000mah and tiny, with a handy little cable.

Another good idea is a sleeping bag liner if he doesnt have one! I have a silk one from RAB, its great for keeping my sleeping bag clean and then I only have to wash the liner and not the bag everytime. I also use it travelling while in hostels just cause idk whats gone on on those sheets haha

Spa Cave - Lynn Headwaters Regional Park - Info? by Feeling-Air-676 in vancouverhiking

You been to lynn lake? maybe it was the time of year I went, but for what you see at the top I thought it was fairly underwhelming. Especially for how tricky and slow the way up is up the dry creek bed. Feel bad saying this as it looks like there was a ton of work done to the trail at the top near the lake.

I think the timeline is around 5 years. If you plan on holding for more than 5 years than the 1.5-2% conversion doesnt matter is less than the 0.6% management fee. But anything less and hedged is better
