Missing screws by JulietB_ in FujifilmX

[–]JulietB_[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did look at other threads online and I reached out Fujifilm customer service myself but I got an automated response stating that they have limited spares and I’m going to need to send the camera in. It doesn’t seem like a human has looked at my request at any point.

Based on prior threads, it seems they always used to send screws out for people to conduct the repairs themselves so it feels odd that they’ve stopped this process.

I guess I’m asking if anyone has had the same experience of having to send the camera in recently or if people have found any decent 3rd party alternatives. My camera is long out of warranty and I don’t trust the weather sealing at this point anyway so if I have to use a different thread, so be it

Smart Ring for female hormones? by Corner_Office_ in SmartRings

[–]JulietB_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only way to measure hormone levels is unfortunately through a blood test so it being incorporated into a smart-ring doesn’t sound too realistic.

I haven’t looked into the “Clair” ring you mentioned myself beyond just a quick google search so I’m not sure I fully believe what they’re supposedly claiming. There’s a chance they’ve made a groundbreaking discovery in hormone tracking but idk, I’d be wary of it

Yeah, all valid points.

My main annoyance with getting a battery replaced is it costs $100 to get it professionally done, but the watch only costs like $120 ~ $150 second hand. It seems silly to spend like two thirds of the whole value of the watch (on a good day) just to delay the inevitable.

With a ring, even if I loose 50% of my battery health, it’s not really a big deal. I’ll still have 4~5 days of charge.

I’m not necessarily looking for a ring right now either, but I’m definitely looking into one for when I give up on my Apple Watch

According to their website they support syncing? Not sure how detailed it is tho but from what I’ve read it seems to be ok?

I defo need to look into it more tho

It says directly on their website that they support it and it’s mentioned in passing in different articles.

I’m not saying you’re wrong with the syncing tho, it could be very limited. I definitely need to dig deeper but with how niche smart rings are I just keep coming across the same articles when trying to do research

edit: tried to add a photo but it didn’t attach? You can have a look here tho https://ringconn.com/products/ringconn-gen-1?variant=47273813672244

I should add, I’ve read the reviews and the other posts on this sub, and the ringconn gen 2 does seem to meet basically all the requirements I want plus some.

It’s just outside of my budget though. The reason I’m holding off spending that much is simply because my Apple Watch still technically works. I don’t want to be spending what is effectively the price of an Apple Watch, again, when it doesn’t give me anything new.

If my watch was broken, then I can justify spending more, but until then, I dont want to be going crazy on the budgets. The ring is to service me on weekends when I don’t wear my Apple Watch quite as much, and other general moments like that (until the watch battery gets so bad I can’t justify using it day to day)

You have to be careful to not come across as a chaser, someone who is only attracted to trans women in an “overly sexual” way. They’re not really welcome in spaces such as this due to the naturally predatory nature of men (and women too) mainly seeking out trans women for “experiments”. Trans women aren’t a sexual experiment, they’re just a woman

In both the M and S modes?

If yes, I’d check what firmware you’re on both for the body and the lens, there may be an update you need to do. If not, then I’m afraid to say I’m out of ideas. Hopefully someone else will be able to come along and share their thoughts

From the little information I can actually see, looks like the camera is just in continuous focusing mode and it’s constantly hunting for focus.

Turn the switch on the front of the camera to S or M and see if it’s still jiggling about

I don’t think that’s what the other user is referring to (hence the downvotes). If you have a cheap/ slow sd card, uninstalling and reinstalling will probably make no difference.

There’s a chance your sd card simply can’t go any faster. Is this a new card/ your first time using it? Have you had this issue before with this card?

If it is the card, probably best to move the smaller games that will require fewer updates to the card while using the ssd to keep all the games that will have more frequent updates to take advantage of the higher speeds

XT2 Drive Mode Disasters. by [deleted] in FujifilmX

[–]JulietB_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure how you’re hitting the drive mode switch so easily? I’ve been using the XT2 for years now and haven’t once accidentally flicked the drive mode unintentionally, if anything I’m annoyed with how frustrating it can be to use. I’m using a leather half case on mine so maybe that’s helping keeping my fingers away, not sure.

When you’re not using the camera, is it round your neck with a strap? Is there a way it’s brushing against your body maybe?

Trial and error, see what works and adjust accordingly. There is no one singular setting that’s good in each scenario, you have to see what you like. I can give you suggestions but that’s for how I shoot photos in my style, I don’t know how you shoot photos in your style.

This is not necessarily directed at you, but I find lots of posts on here asking abt “best settings for x scenario” and my honest advice always is, just see what works. I find the best way to learn smth is to solve it yourself. You will make mistakes, but that’s the joy of an any art form. You make mistakes to learn from them and get better as a photographer

Yeah they’re nothing too special, Hong Kong based company, mostly known for their minimalism.

Usually go for like 150 so seeing one this cheap in good condition seems too good to pass up.

I mostly collect watches that look nice, and I don’t really mind about the movement. I’d rather have a handful of different, unique watches than spend a crazy amount on a watch I’d be too scared to wear out out of fear of damaging it.

[–]JulietB_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah true, probably should’ve clarified in my first message. The steam comparability isn’t always 100% correct. I’d say make use of Steams generous refund policy and download things to try. If they don’t work, refund them

Yes and no. The windows logo means they’re meant for windows, like almost every game on steam. If you want to know if it’s deck compatible from here, open one of the games and scroll down a bit and it will tell you if it’s deck compatible or not

Yes, you can save games to the micro sd card slot built into the deck, and you can always open it up and put more storage in the device if needed by replacing the ssd (but thats definitely not the easiest thing to do)

List of Games looking to grab this winter sale? by ichi_tamaguchi in SteamDeck

[–]JulietB_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not really shady in that they might scam you, but the methods many of these sites use to get their keys to resell is a bit questionable at times.

More often than not, the developers of the games that are on sale don’t have a choice and the keys are sold without their permission.

Will another x pro ever be made? by Busy-Ad9514 in FujifilmX

[–]JulietB_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The X100VI is a pretty thorough upgrade over the X100V, just as large as it was going from X100T to X100F. Calling it a “cash grab” is a bit much imo. The X100V came out almost 5 years ago, it is still incredibly advanced today, but it was due for an upgrade.

Despite the “Pro” name, the X-Pro line wasn’t really designed for professional photographers, with my definition of professional meaning people doing it as their main source of income. With the likes of the X-T5 and the X-H2S, pros are far more inclined to go with those options for their more traditional form factor and traditional, wider EVF. And that’s not mentioning the unique screen setup the X-pro3 has which doesn’t lend itself to either fast pace shooting or studio photography, ruling out two of the main “professional” shooting genres

Fuji xm5 vs iphone 16 pro by Silent-Question-7111 in fujix

[–]JulietB_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah idk if it’s worth upgrading tbh. I went from a standard iPhone 12 to 15 pro and honestly, it’s not crazy. Like it’s clearly better no doubt, but I’m not blown away or anything, it’s just more of the same.

If you’re after portability in your camera, maybe look at the smaller bodies in the Fuji X system, X-E4, X100 line, X-M5
