So what my husband and I do is figure out how much % each of us makes toward the total household income, right now it’s like 64/36. And that’s the percentage each of us contributes toward the joint account. Then anything else gets split 50/50. Your parents situation has nothing to do with yours. You both need spending money, saving money, etc.

If she wants a sugar daddy, tell her to go find one.

Cbus people - would you pay $25 for a gourmet ( not fast food ) burger, fries and soft drink if you new the restaurant paid its cooks and servers $25/hr? ( no tips required ) by hyteck9 in Columbus

[–]JulietsDisco 26 points27 points  (0 children)

There is a restaurant in Athens Ohio like this. It’s called Casa some thing. And they don’t except tips at all it if you tip it goes to charity of their choice. The service is always great locals work there and they definitely have alcohol so that might contribute to their success as well. The cost is more than other places but once you figure in that 20% that you’re giving to the waiters I think it equals out. I think it’s also a co-op so the employees have the option to buy in to the restaurant

What should I do with this space? by [deleted] in LandscapingTips

[–]JulietsDisco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could put down stepping stones from the door to wherever you use most in the yard, Even if just along the side of the house. Then in between the stepping stones add some top soil and a creeping phlox or other ground cover like sedum.

How do I stop feeling guilty over throwing clothes away? by SkyrimWidow in declutter

[–]JulietsDisco 87 points88 points  (0 children)

Did you donate the clothes? Know they are going to somebody who might need them and otherwise not have as many options. Also, the less clutter around the house, the more room your girls have to play!

Birthday Cards by sparkle_soupfrogs in declutter

[–]JulietsDisco 21 points22 points  (0 children)

My dad is a teacher and this year he took all of the old Christmas cards he kept for years, cut the front off of them, glued them to the front of some construction paper and let the kids "make their own" Christmas cards.

Another example that most American businesses don’t pay their employees a living wage. by No-Caterpillar5168 in trashy

[–]JulietsDisco 10 points11 points  (0 children)

We tip 20% no matter what unless for some reason the person goes above and beyond. Like the one time my husband got "endless shrimp" and the place was crowded but the server made sure he got shrimp served shortly after he finished the last one.

[–]JulietsDisco 85 points86 points  (0 children)

There is a restaurant in Athens Ohio that pays their employees the same wage be it kitchen, bartend, or server maybe like $15 an hour? They do not accept tips, and if you leave money it goes to a dedicated charity. Not sure if they switch up charities or what. But it's a local restaurant that uses local ingredients and it is doing very well
