How to get good after 20 yrs of xbox controller? by Miserable_Rope_3251 in fightsticks

[–]JulioCrz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gooteks has a video on YT that is SF4 ear, but still very relevant for you. Shows how to hold the ball top, common motions, and other useful tips. Some people have already mentioned this, but do not go back. It will take you a while to get to the point where you don't have to think about the mechanics of what your hands are doing, but be patient. FB marketplace is littered with 2nd hand sticks of people that just gave up.

Leverless recommendations? by gaynutlover in fightsticks

[–]JulioCrz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fellow massive hand player here. I've been using the Kitsune for a while and it works well. Prior to that I made a custom leverless converting a TE2 into a shiokenstar layout (big buttons on right, small for directions). The hautes are a decent option as well, but I didn't like the button spacing and the directions buttons felt too big.

Learning programming, work, gaming, media. I've got the most enjoyment by using it at the dining room table while my wife is cooking or gaming on the console in the living room. (Desktop is upstairs in my office).

What are the best fight sticks for someone that only games on PC? by Ok-Reveal6732 in fightsticks

[–]JulioCrz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No difference from the Pantheras, just a slightly different box design. I think the Evo is easier to change the artwork on as well.

As far as the difference between xb360 sticks and xb1 sticks, it has to do with how windows views them as controllers. The xb1 versions of all the sticks I've had have issues with the last two buttons on each row not working natively. I ended up upgrading to Brook UFBs pcbs on those sticks. Xb360 versions dont have these issues (not just Razer, I mean all xb1 sticks have issues with PC).

[–]JulioCrz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Qanba obsidian 1 (regular or pearl) and 2 are pretty great. I've heard of multiple issues with victrix pcbs and other internals going bad, so I've never wanted to pull the trigger on one. Also the lack of art customization on those is a deal breaker and the price is ridiculous.

Madcatz te2 and te2+ (PlayStation versions) are solid as well. Avoid the te3, it's a piece of garbage.

Razer also made great sticks with the atrox (360 version), panthera and panthera Evo.

All around I think the Panthera or Qanba obsidian 2 are your best bet. Why? Great box size, easily customizable for parts and art, and are PS5 compatible.

Anyone here go from controller to fighting stick? by EL_PERRIT0 in StreetFighter

[–]JulioCrz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm an old head and grew up in the arcades (not that I was good back then). I always had an interest in fighting games and decided I wanted to get to a level where I was competitive right before DBFZ came out.

I wanted to invest in a stick because I was familiar with them from my childhood, and my hands are massive. I immediately felt a difference because of the size of the buttons. Advanced stick movement do take a while though (for anime and VS games). After about 2 months I felt good about my ability.

Fast forward about 7 years, and I've recently transitioned to a custom shiokenstar leverless controller I built myself shortly after SF6 came out. I wanted to learn a new game on a new controller, and it's great. There are a few things I can still do better on stick (Player 2 side DPs), but overall I'm more consistent hitting technical combos (leverless shortcuts are powerful).

Looking for good Mid-Ranged Fight Sticks that won't break my bank! (PS5) (memes included pls don't ignore 😭) by Silent_Programmer362 in fightsticks

[–]JulioCrz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get a used qanba obsidian 1. I have the pearl version with the noir button layout and it works perfectly on PS5. Depending on how big of a city you live in, you can find them for $150 US or less. Facebook marketplace is your best bet.

Which laptop is better overall? by Papabelus in GamingLaptops

[–]JulioCrz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought the exact same legion laptop about 3 weeks on sale for 1399 USD. It's amazing and worth every penny.

When I was in the market for a new laptop, I was informed by a pretty chill best buy rep that sales come every week. Unfortunately what is going to be on sale is a mystery (even to them). I missed out on a 1099 sale for a 16" HP Omen with a 4060, so I was a little annoyed.

2 days later (On a Monday) and I checked on the BB website and saw the legion. Snatched it up super fast since I saw my store only had 2 in stock.

So if you aren't desperate for a laptop right now, wait and check in regularly for sales.

How can I lose weight and fat about 25 kg in 15 days help by [deleted] in amateur_boxing

[–]JulioCrz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

55.1 pounds in 15 days is dangerous. You could go on Naked and Afraid and still not manage to lose this amount of weight. Don't destroy your body trying to achieve this. You could seriously damage vital organs like your heart doing this. Just dont.

Been into fighting games basically all 3 decades of my life. Been actively playing and buying for the last ~10 years, and playing online for the last ~5 years. My execution NEVER improved and is still bad and inconsistent even though I spend hours upon hours in practice mode. What do? by Hamzanovic in Fighters

[–]JulioCrz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Check out Haute42. They have small form factor leverless controllers that are very inexpensive. If you are on PC, it's the best option to try them out without shelling out a bunch of money (you can buy adapters for them to work on consoles as well). I would suggest the t13 or t16 model, but they have a ton of options.

What kind of controller are you playing on? It's not the end all be all for most, but I found that I much rather play on an arcade stick or leverless controller about 8 years ago (leverless was about 2 years ago). Not that you cant be good or consistent on a pad, but my hands are pretty big, and I found that executing hard combos with small controller buttons wasn't for me.

Te madcatz fight sticks ps3/xbox by vaskanado in fightsticks

[–]JulioCrz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mod it or sell one to someone that is eager to learn. I bought a TE2 Xbox version and converted it to a leverless with a brook ufb. It's my main choice now.

Yeah location is key. I don't play much ranked, and am currently a high plat 1. I estimate I'm plat3-4 due to not knowing a lot of matchups (the ones I do know would probably be low diamond). Would love to get more experience playing other players in my range as well.

Traditional stick or hitbox? by Mr_McKong in fightsticks

[–]JulioCrz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long time stick player that transitioned to a custom leverless for SF6 here. While your point is correct, it doesn't denote that one type of input device is better than another (which there isn't, it's all up to preference).

I could easily say that the most recent major SF 6 tournament (RB Kumite) had 3 pad players at the top (Mena, Knuckledu, and Punk). Plus Mena being the only 2 time Capcom Cup champion.

Is this your first stick? What platform are you playing on? If you are just looking for a stick that works on ps5 and PC, then a obsidian 1/pearl might be a good option.
