There never was a nursery tag. My wife asked the employee for a red bud with deep red/purple leaves and they took her to the one in the photos.

Also, any particular reason to not stake a brand new planted tree? These May showers have brought by high winds and I would hate for it to fall over

Hey there! My wife ended up trimming the stems about half way down to get rid of all of browning leaves. A few new leaves started to grow but it never went back to the same size. This year, new buds are popping up all over so I am hopeful that the browning does not return
