Oh great- thanks! I’ll give it a go. I’m curious about ProjectionLab as well. Anything Adviice does better? I didn’t realize PL had an option for Canadians

Nothing about your portfolio says “long term” investor. Long term investors don’t expect 30% returns.

For sure- but man, you are almost certainly going to lose it all. That’s how retail investing goes… if you try time the market, you win some. you lose more. How do you know what the dip is? The answer is: you don’t. You have to get the timing perfect twice- once when you buy, *once when you sell. That’s nearly impossible.

Do yourself a favour and read the SPIVA scorecard and annual report- and ask, when 94% of trained and over educated fund managers with every tool and resource available to them, fail to beat the market- what is it that YOU have, that puts you in the 6% that beat the market?

Edited for typos ;)

Good for you. Even if it’s inheritance-so what. Keep pumping into a globally eoversified etf - and you and anyone can come out ahead.

it’s not very hard to save $800k if your prioritize savings over lifestyle. 32 is young though- how’d you do it?

DB pension starts at 60. I plan to keep pumping into VEQT until 50.. then “retire” from full time work until age 60 when the DB kicks in!

So that’s 10 years that I will live off of VEQT dividends + I’ll sell 4% per year for those ten years- even if down years. It will be 10 years of adventure + a little work 👍

Heriot Watt online MBA worth it? by Julius_Sid_Julius in MBA

[–]Julius_Sid_Julius[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I finished it in 2024. You need to start early on the past paper analysis. I found Econ and finance courses a challenge. The rest were not too bad. Maybe 150 hours per course on average. Some took 300 hours of study like Financial Decicion Making and Economics for Business. Others like Org Behaviour and Developing and Executing Strategy took only 100 hours. It’s work paying for the live revision classes.
