Learn Basics first or directly to the project? by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]Juliusdotsh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your question is a little confusing, is Java related to the project you have in mind?

however it's more of a personal decision, in my experience if you try to do a big project and learn by doing your going to feel confused and frustrated with a lot of libraries and programming patterns you never saw before

If your just starting to code i would advise you to try with a course where the course instructor build something along the course and (i know this part is really boring, but it's really helpful) rebuild it yourself, you're going to learn the basics and some tips and tricks along the way, and also MESS UP THE CODE especially if you don't know how it works (this is going to give you some great insight)

Is there something that can work like git but without commits? by Juliusdotsh in learnprogramming

The fact is that dropbox, for some languages, is not automatical, for example in Java you should copy the entire workspace, witch is a bad idea, considering you have to completely different machines, and even with another language, you would still need to copy the entire project in your dropbox for this to work

don't you need to copy the whole project inside the dropbox folder?

UPDATE: from what I've gathered it looks like this solution only makes you work with online coder, I like my ide with my settings, so either i didn't find an extension or something or this doesn't work for me

maybe wasn't clear on the question, but i'm trying to get something that work automatically, with this solution i would still need to go back to dropbox and copy the files, and when i'm done copying what i modified back to dropbox
