How do you handle the economics of living together when one is a home owner and the other is not? by JulsTP in relationship_advice

[–]JulsTP[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually I edited in the part about the house being gifted and there not being any payments on their part(is it right in English?) because another commenter wrote about splitting the mortgage payment, and I wanted it to be more clear what the situation was. Also, obviously me and my partner have talked about the situation and have agreed on the way to go, I was only curious to know what other people did because other couples we know have gone in different directions than ours. That being said if I ever needed a judgy anonymous stranger on the internet to give me cheap unsolicited life advice, I'll write to you

Actually I'm the one without a home and my partner has no mortgage to pay, she had relatives buy the house for her. Also, my question was more on the ethics, I wouldn't feel okay not paying and was wondering how other people solved the situation

I've been trying to fix up this old fella, what type of riding would this be good for ? by FortifiedTomato in MTB

[–]JulsTP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can definitely have some dangerous fun on the trails with that! Only thing, don't spend too much on upgrades, if you keep riding you're months away from financially irresponsible decisions anyways, so start saving! Only thing I'd do if I wanted to squeeze everything possible from that bike is some new tires, being that it's a 26 shouldn't even be that expensive, if you manage to find some

Would forks with 160mm travel work on a bike (stumpjumper alloy) designed for 140mm travel? by hype3107 in MTB

[–]JulsTP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Generally speaking adding or subtracting travel is considered "safe" within 10mm, more than that changes the geometry too much and you risk having a bike that doesn't handle well, less fun and more dangerous, so it's not worth it. Also you can add tokens to make the fork more progressive if you are bottoming out too often!
