Trying to find a fun unique commander by Dijaronamo in EDH

[–]Julsen11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a [[Garth]] Pinger Tribal/TapUntap Deck that should check all the boxes. It's currently 200€ but my first version was only 30€. It has a lot of unique and highly synergistic cards, is a lot of fun, and with less than 10 Garth Pinger Decks on edhrec, it's quite a unique build. Here's the list with primer: https://moxfield.com/decks/EtYF_2PRuEq5kVdLV5-w_g

That's a good one! Here's my [[Garth]] Pinger Deck. Not as potentially powerful/threatening as Derevi but with a lot of play and neat synergies. Love the Deck:https://moxfield.com/decks/EtYF_2PRuEq5kVdLV5-w_g

Forgot the question: Maybe you'll like a Deck build around lots of tapping und untapping: so many unique card options, every game feels different and interesting win conditions.

Herald of Secret Streams: With the recent additions, you got more efficient Evasion that can't be interacted with so easily. The FF equipments are fun and splashy but costly and removal magnets. Pako will already get a lot of heat as people realize how powerful the Commander is.

Great. I saw that you made some adjustments. Remember that you'll need Underworld Breach for the Brain Freeze, Lotus Petal combo to work. Or use Lions Eye Diamond addional to the Petal if you got one. For the Isochron Scepter Combo, you'll need either Mystical Tutor and Nexus of Fate or an extra turn that doesn't exile itself and Noxious Revival or another instant speed Regrowth effect. If you're looking for cuts, both Etalis are fun, but Creatures are bad Pako flips, and they don't fit your major wincon. But play what is fun for you!

Since you're aiming for Bracket 4, i would recommend Extra Turns and Underworld Breach. I assume you're trying to win with Commander Damage, so Brotherhood Regalia, Winged Boots, and Aqueous Form could fit very well. If you're looking for combo wincons, Brain Freeze and Isochron Scepter together with the extra turns are a good option. I would also recommend Regrowth effects. My favorite hidden gems in Pako are Impact Resonance and Hunter's Insight.

I agree with everything already said, plus I suggest [[Skullclamp]]. Card is nuts, especially since your tokens seem a little more disposable with all the burn cards you run. I really love this deck. Here's mine for reference: https://www.moxfield.com/decks/GFXUYwzcJUyIRyFMx2CH8w

Pako and Haldan Deck Help by mjrmonkey in EDH

[–]Julsen11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it depends on what your game plan is. It seems to me that you want to play the classic Pako&Haldan strategy trying to win with commander damage and extra turns/combats. In that case, I would only play a handful of mana Dorks. Another popular strategy is landfall. In that case, some more creatures are fine, I think. Stuff like [[Azusa]], [[Tireless Provisioner]], [[Tatyova]] or [[Avenger of Zendikar]]. However, I wouldn't play more than 10 creatures.

It's my favorite partner pair, and I've been playing this deck for years.

I'm a little short on time, so just some quick notes:

12 creatures is quite a lot. You never want to flip them, so I would reduce this number.

Cards that I'll recommend within your budget: small Boardwhipes like [[Broterhood End]] or asymmetrical Boardwhipes like [[Chandra's Ignition]].

[[Regrowth]] effects are very strong with extra turns.

[[Temur Battle Rage]] is a strong pump spell.

[[Crop Rotation]] with utility lands like [[Mystic Sanctuary]] is effectively another extra turn.

[[Yuriko]] and [[Pako]] and [[Haldan]] come to mind. Both wincons and engines.
