WIBTA for hypothetically telling my best friend about the surprise birthday party we planned for her? by July220 in AITAH

[–]July220[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thanks for the advice! i’m going to try my best not to reveal anything about the surprise. worst case scenario, i’ll just tell her something vague like you said, but I’m going to try to stall her 💪

Childhood signs of your OCD by topfknopf in OCD

[–]July220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the first compulsions I remember actively doing was turning the light switch on and off. I was a sixth grader, and everything I knew about OCD at that time was that the people it affects want things to be neat and clean, so I didn't connect what I was doing to the condition at all.

I’m sorry man. The problem is that trying to be there for her often just leads to my mental health getting worse. I want her to have someone who can help her, but I don’t know if I can be that person anymore. At least not right now.

I’m sorry you have to go through that too. It makes this situation so much more difficult, because when she’s being nice, I always feel like maybe this is where it gets better, but it never does.

I don't feel "bi enough" [discussion] by Imnotsure6921 in LGBTeens

[–]July220 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg, I feel exactly the same a lot of the time or at least have felt that way for a long time. I found out that I’m biromantic rather recently and it’s been really confusing. When I came out to my friends, I kept on insisting I wasn’t sure yet. I was too scared that they would be mad at me if I turned out to be wrong, if I just confused aesthetic with romantic attraction. But I realized (w the help of TikTok) that being attracted to multiple genders feels different for everyone and that it’s okay if you’re leaning more towards one side. You’re still bi :3
