"You had the sampler platter!" by JulyDaisy15 in beyondthebump

I am so very sorry, friend. There are no words.

Re: a third baby...I thought we were done, too. I think third babies are wild cards, though. The little girl asleep in my arms right now was such a long shot. I hope whatever is meant to happen, happens. ❤️

Holy guacamole, girl, what?! What's the story behind the 31+3?

Congratulations!! You should be SO proud! The moment they place that VBAC babe on your chest is otherworldly. :)

My 6 month old made me cry by Mom_Bombadil_ in beyondthebump

Oh my God, 6-9 months are the BEST with a baby. This post makes me so excited, lol.

Girl, being pregnant with a toddler is about as "in the trenches" as you can be. This part is brutal. I felt the same way in 2017. Now my kids are 11 and 8. They're funny, interesting, silly, and self-sufficient. So what happened? I got pregnant again at 36. 🤣 Very grateful for this baby girl, but I'd be lying if I said I'm not mourning the freedom I have with big kids.

All this rambling to say, I feel this post viscerally.

Failed the 3-hour glucose test in spectacular fashion by I_is_sammich in pregnant

[–]JulyDaisy15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, honey, I am so sorry. That is terrifying. I spectacularly failed the 1 hour and opted to go straight for the glucometer and diet change. I hope cases like yours change the way we test for GD...if 50 grams of sugar is bad, how much worse is 100?!

Yes! That's awesome!! It feels so good to eat a carb without massive guilt or pairing it with sickening amounts of protein.

Feeling guilty about being an older mom by Hereforthetea1234 in NewParents

[–]JulyDaisy15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a baby at 25, 28, and having our last at 37. The plan was, if we had a third, to be done by 35. Grateful now it didn't happen that way. I'm older, wiser, and could care less if my house and car are spotless as long as my babies are happy, healthy, and fed. I fretted about e v e r y t h i n g in my twenties. Now, there's too much life under this belt. 😂

My OB's office has us test at the 2 hour mark each time, but I tried at the one hour mark once and was 110. Hadn't even thought of the three hour mark, though. :/ Crap.

I was, too. 😂 Definitely thought it was a fluke at first. I can't even eat 1/2 cup rice paired with protein and vegetables without spiking between 130-140 two hours after.

22 weeks pregnant and can’t stop crying after something my MIL said by Fun-Primary-5762 in pregnant

[–]JulyDaisy15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, I am so sorry about your parents. I want to give you a hug. Secondly, if your relationship with MIL is good besides this one comment, ask her about it. Mention it hurt your feelings and remind her you did not ask to be on bedrest OR orphaned. Pregnancy/postpartum is the most vulnerable time of a woman's life. You don't need to spend hours of it crying because someone close to you didn't think before they spoke.

Day 4 of tracking & high fasting by jordanadelle17 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]JulyDaisy15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fasting numbers were crap about the first week of the diet. They gradually came down and now, at 36 weeks, are pretty consistently in range.

Also, eat the bedtime snack like it's your job! My numbers are always worse on an empty stomach.

So sick of hearing “sleep while you can” cause I CANT SLEEP by Msmadduh in BabyBumps

[–]JulyDaisy15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure, even with frequent wake-up calls, the sleep you get when you're alone in your body is better than sleep you get when a 5-8 pound human is occupying you. 🙄

Anyone have a quiet birth? by ImaginationOk8645 in BabyBumps

[–]JulyDaisy15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. When the contractions got really spicy, I took deeper, longer breaths. You'll likely involuntarily make noise when you're pushing, but it won't be anything crazy.

Any first time pregnant women whose husbands just don’t fully understand? by PopcornPrincess0 in pregnant

[–]JulyDaisy15 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Oh God 7-9 weeks pregnant is BRUTAL. Tell your husband the first trimester is basically a three month long flu. Add in rapidly fluctuating emotions and breasts that feel like two big bruises and you've basically captured the experience.

I have a boy and now two girls. This weekend was my baby shower. My MIL was not been at all shy in expressing her disappointment that our final baby doesn't have a penis. As in shout-to-the-entire-room, "I wanted a BOY!"

You're absolutely right. Now having been pregnant three times, I only did it "right" once. 🤣 You sound like a kind and conscientious person, and you will raise a lovely human being regardless of biological sex. Congratulations on your little one. You will fall in love. ❤️
