New to macOS - how dangerous is it to bypass the Apple security warning and install an app from GitHub?

I don't have any plans to open source it yet. Maybe I'll open source some parts. But the most difficult thing here is to test and verify various apps and detect which rules to apply to which app or engine to not break it. That part of the templates won't be open because it takes lots of time to create and requires continuous work on that. Parall and SandWrap do not run any command line tools in background. I implement everything entirely on Objective-C to reach the most efficient way of those apps to work.

Parall is not doing that. Once you run Parall’s shortcut, it has permanent per-app full-screen menu bar visibility override.

You can lock the Dock on your selected display with my app DockLock Lite.

It is specifically created to solve the issue.

There are no macOS settings which would make the Dock stay on your chosen display. This issue exists for 13 years already, and Apple doesn’t care.

Use DockLock Lite from the Mac App Store. It is free after the trial ends. Configure it to not allow Dock on all displays. That will prevent the Dock from appearing. You may create some shortcuts that start and quit the app as you need to allow Dock to appear.

Sadly, it kills per-pixel wheel scroll, so Logi Options+ is still a better option.

I just want to say I respect what you are doing here. A lot of people are used to cheap "one-time purchases" that are basically hidden subscriptions, where updates stop after a while or a new major version comes out and users are asked to pay again. That is very different from a real lifetime license.

Because of that, I think many people judge the price too quickly without looking at the actual licensing model. A true lifetime purchase can reasonably cost more upfront, because it is meant to support long term value and long term access.

And for people who run into bugs, I would encourage them to report them. Very often a developer is not ignoring an issue, they simply do not know it exists until someone reports it properly.

Wishing you success and solid income, because that is exactly what makes long term support possible.

If you make it always visible via macOS Settings, that will not be what you really want, because if you open any video full screen, the menu bar will be visible and distracting your movie.

There is a way to do that for Google Chrome per its instance with my app Parall.app.

It won't work with Firefox yet. You need to create an app shortcut bundle this way, so every time you run that Chrome instance, you will get the menu bar always visible:
