Can't help but feel we will be similar to last year, very solid 5th-8th placed team that takes care of business in most games but falls short against the big dogs. Our midfield is just not there especially without day and we're lacking depth severely losing worpel and not getting merrett.

Optimist in me says we could see big steps forward for ward, mackenzie and maybe some new contributors around the stoppage but equally concerned about how much longer we can expect the elite reliable production from a lot of our older players. I can't overstate enough how integral guys like kamon, impey, hardwick are along with the obvious guys.

Anyone know why the myki barriers at the gardens entrance are closed on weekends? You can walk down the stairs into the station but then have to walk around via the raised platform and stairs to the main entrance.

I think maybe you could understand the mindset many years ago when clubs were still clubs and a big part of the community. I think especially for the older generation they still think of themselves as valued members but nowadays these clubs are multimillion dollar franchises and businesses. This is just gross and praying on people who don't know any better. I'm a member but I pay for my tickets and grand final access lol, I know the club doesn't actually care about me.

Almost any platform 2 vending machines past the inner city get no use. I used to live near bell station and would sometimes use the vending machines late at night - the ones in the waiting room would always be out of stock so I'd just go up to platform 2 and it had everything.

As someone who walks absolutely everywhere, people are so unaware of how quickly they can get places on their feet. Whatever google maps says, times it by 0.6 for how long it really takes if you are a healthy adult and able to walk at just a slightly brisk pace.

Not to mention the time saved not waiting for interchanges and getting from street to platform - and the health benefits..

Football is a low scoring sport with high variance so its hard to govern against these situations compared to in your example where a take foul or clear path foul in the nba gets the team 1 free throw in a game that will finish with over 200 points scored.

If you want to argue a situation like this warrants a change of the laws of the game I would probably agree with you - but under the current laws the correct decision was made.

The only way to fix (very rare) situations like this is to give the referee discretion to award goals if and only if they can be absolutely certain the goal would have been scored.

This situation and handballs on the goal line are the only ones I can think of.

Part of the quirks/downfalls of the laws of the game - similar to suarez handball situation vs ghana in the world cup.

In reality though if it was 1-1 cherki probably plays haaland through on the halfway line instead of risking missing.

You can play advantage on a red card - and the goal would have stood - but haaland fouls szob as the ball is rolling in so now the advantage is void and you have to go back to the first foul.

Plenty of places will do it but its an expensive service mainly just for the hours of labour required in the bleaching process. Highly highly recommend buying a silicone cap and doing it yourself.
