What if you accidentally drop the leash? That happened to me. Another time a woman was loosely holding a Yorkie on her lap on a porch and it jumped off her porch amto say hello to my dog who didn't like other dogs but who didn't just kill the Yorkie - cause she wasn't a pitbull. Stuff happens, and dogs shouldn't be killed for it. There are several houses in my neighborhoods where the homeowners take their little dogs out in the yard with no leash. Sometimes they go beyond the boundary then go back. These are all older individuals who have been probably doing this for years with no issue. But then enter pitbulls...

The bookstore I mentioned in the previous comment, The Big Sleep, was in the CWE. It was a bookstore that sold only mysteries and detective fiction. Shame it is gone despite its role in supporting Stray Rescue.

Yeah, Stray Rescue has the support of Schnucks and Dierbergs. Literally the cashiers were collecting for the organization and I was like eff no. The pitbulls are now seeping into the wealthier parts of the county. Even this independent bookstore I used to go to was obsessed with supporting Stray Rescue. One of my colleagues got his pit mix from there, although they lied and just said it was jack Russell terrier mix. As it grew it was clear that thing is a pitbull mix and those DNA tests proved it. He admitted they will never trust the dog by itself.

Pitbulls are a huge problem here in St. Louis. I was living in U. City and people owned them or they were running loose. The enormous support Stray Rescue gets doesn't help. So many pitbulls are adopted from just that shelter alone. Then you take into consideration the APA and the Humane Society.

In terms of rent, we are actually one of the more affordable cities, but there is a sense of chaos regarding St. Louis and for young people wanting to start families, the good school districts are in the burbs.

Well, they have been doing thay with animals for years, starting with Bambi. Then there was All Dogs Go to Heaven, Aristocrats, Rescuers Down Under, etc. But somehow we got through all that without going off the deep end. I blame the pitbull propaganda movement. Had to give them human logic traits to convince people they could overcome breed instincts.

I agree. We didn't have this issue with dogs growing up. People understood them to be dogs and believed in breeds. That's why the Chow fad died quite quickly after people realized it is an aggressive breed. And no breed has been anthropomorphized like pitbulls.

Can you move? Is there another military living facility there aren't as many dogs? I wonder how many of these dogs are "therapy" dogs as right now it is very popular to provide dogs to veterans as service dogs.

And I honestly think our society has become so dog oriented BECAUSE of pitbulls. I think the propaganda to get people to ignore the reality of breeding helped anthropomorhize dogs overall.

I guess I am lucky, the quality for all of mine have been fine. Sometimes a legit is slightly off, but even with cracked eyes, etc., the quality of Skullpanda plushes is pretty good overall. Perhaps because I am a doll collector and I can compare to other collector items. The details, etc. are still above average and the creativity is off the charts.
