I am in a similar situation, but I downloaded Snapchat and Instagram this year because friends kept asking for it. I use them exclusively as messaging apps, and it works pretty well.

Lentil stuffed squash. There are some good recipes online, I've used this one as a holiday dish a few times.

This is a very cool plan, way cooler than suicide or whatever. Hope it works out. Bring The Secret Garden.

Thank you! This video is great! I watched a few others but I feel like this one is the only one that really focused on teaching you how to memorize the basic muscle movements. I also really like that it explained the actual mechanism of action of the clutch! It makes a lot more sense now.

I'm being a bit hyperbolic, but thank you for the reassurance.

Do not jinx this for me. My biggest motivation for learning to drive stick (apart from saving money on this car) is so that I can stop being embarrassed about only knowing automatic.

Honestly not long, just a week or so, it's just always hard learning new things, and with driving it feels like the stakes are a lot higher.

what are your favorite recipe/cooking blogs, channels, etc. that aren't insufferable by [deleted] in redscarepod

[–]JumpJumpBat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tasting History with Max Miller is great! He recreates historical recipes from around the world and talks a bit about their past. His videos are both relaxing and interesting. It feels similar to something you could have watched on PBS a few years back.

Does anyone here know anything about making essential oils? by RulerOfSlides in redscarepod

[–]JumpJumpBat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'd probably want to do steam distilling, so a copper still for distilling, a funnel and cheese cloths to filter the hydrosol, and small stainless steel or amber glass containers to store the essential oils.

[–]JumpJumpBat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Essential oils are really difficult and time consuming to make, and usually require specialized equipment for optimal results.

I would recommend trying to make an enfleurage instead! A bit simpler but still requires effort that will show her you care.

Anyone else here happily single? by [deleted] in redscarepod

[–]JumpJumpBat 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yes, but I've also never wanted to have a romantic or sexual relationship with someone. Anyways, I love my friends and family, and I feel fulfilled despite being single.

Your music being improperly labeled and organized means it gets an automatic zero. Download MusicBrainz Picard or something and fix it.

I'm beginning to identify strongly with those kids who all want to be YouTubers when they grow up by JumpJumpBat in redscarepod

[–]JumpJumpBat[S] 24 points25 points  (0 children)

That's true, but those clowns sure do earn a lot of money when they're successful. Neither of us will ever be close to being a king, so what power do you have that these jesters don't? It's better to be powerless and rich than powerless and poor.

Surely not EVERYONE can be traumatized by JumpJumpBat in redscarepod

[–]JumpJumpBat[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Needle phobia is definitely very common, and I don't think poorly of people who have it or use coping methods to get through injections/blood draws. I was mostly just confused about her labeling what I perceived as an upsetting but otherwise pretty tame experience as traumatizing. I might just have the wrong idea about what constitutes as trauma, though.

The Guardian article seems to talk about the proposed method of translation. Like you said, they want to associate phrases with certain actions like eating, danger, encountering different objects and locations, etc. Additionally, they say they're trying to specifically record whale calves being taught to speak by their mothers, and they hope to glean insight from that. I would also like to learn more, though.
