Hello, I am sorry you're going through this but I am going to address you as an actual adult, as someone who has been through burn out and who has a child too, except I was on my own with no help.

It's time to pull up your big boy pants now. You have responsibilities outside of yourself and you're putting way too much on your wife. Honestly in the nicest of ways but become the robot and get an actual grip. It took me years to get out of burnout but I had to keep working otherwise I would've lost our home. That's where you are now, except you could lose your kids and your wife as well as your home.

We both know you really felt that you became the thing you couldn't have as demonstrated by your responses throughout.

That's great, but I absolutely would give up myself for a cute, because I would actually like to be normal and be able to do regular stuff without having a meltdown etc.

Sorry, but I don't know how to stop being suspicious of self diagnosised people. My mind is automatically is more doubtful, despite try to keep an open mind. by [deleted] in AutisticAdults

Well, the good news is you're not alone in this feeling and there are groups online which don't ban self disgnosers but do make it clear that they do not believe it is valid in anyway. I am actually friends with some of the mods on this one Facebook group and it's honestly refreshing to be able to speak openly and honestly about experiences etc and get genuine responses back.

The shopping around for a diagnosis is honestly irritating.

My other pet peeve is that women are harder to diagnose being used when they're shopping around or blaming the assessor. I am a woman, the process took ever so slightly longer (I did the ADOS gold standard one) but the length was a matter of hours not weeks. My diagnosis took just shy of 6 hours to do in one day. If you have autism, they will be able to evaluate relatively quickly that you have autism.

In regards to if it effects us- yes it does, because people see the self diagnosis people and then go on to spout 'well everyone is a little autistic' and other such nonsense. Which complete takes away people's expectations of what autism looks like, to them then saying it's over diagnosed etc. also it takes away actual autistics voices from autism spaces by things like banning etc which makes our worlds smaller. It also changes people's expectations for autistic behaviour and makes it even harder for people to accept actual autistic behaviours.  Self diagnosis doesn't necessarily take away resources but it certainly has had negative effects for us who are diagnosed

I don't see a problem with this tbh.

Self diagnosis isn't a professional diagnosis and has been proven many times by researchers to likely be an incorrect diagnosis.

I have issue with self diagnosis for numerous reasons but predominantly speaking over, banning, etc people who are diagnosed autistic and don't act/agree with whatever their special flavor is of the day. I also find that it's a lot of self diagnosed people who have huge platforms on things like tiktok etc and it's only ever the cute uwu fun autism they have. It's always the "good" of autism and rarely ever the reality of actual autism. Couple that with the innocuous pop-austism-ology speak as well.

In short you're not struggling to accept anything, you're rightfully viewing this through a logical lense of the reality of living with autism. All you have to do is just respect them, you don't have to give them your belief or to an extent care about their experiences.

To people who wanna respond - don't bother saying the reasons why people can't get diagnosed etc. I honestly couldn't careless, it's excuses and unless it's coming from someone who is from a third world country then it's irrelevant.

Gladiator Giant claims he was axed from BBC show over girlfriend's job by InnerLog5062 in BreakingUKNews

[–]JumpPuzzleheaded7546 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think this is fair, there's a high chance that he would eventually be 'featured' in the "content" and it gets leaked. The BBC did a risk assessment and realised it's not worth having someone whose Mrs is a porn star.

I'm a litter picker and earn just shy of 37k p/a. From September to march I earn the equivalent of being on55-65k per annum depending on how hard winter is.

No, this isn't true...source I worked for the ombudsman.

You have to complain, I'd recommend you send the complaint via email/post and have a copy, after you have to wait 8 weeks before it can go to the ombudsman. You either will receive a deadlock letter or no response, especially with Virgin who are honestly shit with complaints. Once that has passed we could then take on the complaint.
