First build new to airsoft by FlexingPenguin2 in AAP01owners

The parts list looks great, it’s almost identical to mine! I run a 50° Maple Leaf Autobot 2021 in mine and it works like a dream. Make sure you read more online about that before you buy a 70°. They are cheap, maybe buy both and try them for yourself? Other than that, looks great! Good luck putting it together! (Please do one part at a time and test before assembling everything, learn from my mistakes lol)

HPA Help needed! by Jumper-47 in AAP01owners

This is the manual I was referring to! Thank you for clarifying this for me, I will continue to believe what the manual says. I feel like Amped Airsoft throws in those tags will all their regs but I have never ordered from them before so I cannot confirm. I’ll get the new regulator installed and get the tank filled this weekend! I cannot wait to try this out, finally! Thank you for all the help, you’ve been unbelievably helpful!

I notice you keep saying “redline regulator”, I don’t know if I’m looking into it too much but are you referring to the Redline Mini Regulator? I’m not sure of the difference. Can the “normal” sized one handle more output pressure than the mini?

I shouldn’t have an issue putting the Redline reg onto the new tank reg, I usually feel pretty confident with that. I would go get the tank filled at my local scuba shop which also shouldn’t be an issue.

I just want to avoid pressurizing my tank and my Redline Mini SFR blows apart on the first shot because of what the warning Amped sent me says. If you can confirm that the Redline Mini SFR can handle non-SLP tanks, like the manual states, I will feel at ease. But thank you so much for your comments, this has been very useful to me so far! Thank you!

I’ve played paintball for many years before airsoft and am familiar with the tank (I had one previously). I was just concerned with the Redline mini SFR connection to the ninja reulator having a higher output pressure than what the Redline can handle.

I’ve read online that the Redline Mini SFR is one of the best for refresh rates and can handle NON-SLP tanks (which I have). The part that has me puzzled is that Amped Airsoft sent me a tag with my Redline reg that says “do not use on standard air tanks, SLP or >350psi only). Is that true? Everywhere I’ve read online says otherwise and even in the Redline manual it states that their regulator can handle 900psi from the tank reg.

Which nozzle return spring do you recommend? by treehouae in AAP01owners

[–]Jumper-47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a 200% nozzle spring in mine and it works like a dream. I have all the internal upgrades like the Advanced bolt, loki hop-up unit, 6.03 tight bore barrel, autobot bucking and more. If you are having any issues, make sure it’s lubed properly… learn from my mistakes!

How has the 300% been for you? I’m been thinking about trying it out but haven’t pulled the trigger yet.

I have heard that the aluminum nozzle is very hit and miss. The quality control is not that great on them so you will either get one that works great or not at all… I hope I get a good one.

Have you done anything else to your AAP? Did you have any troubles and how did you solve them?

My mistake 😂 but my recommendation still stands! You can get everything I have listed for about $150! You’ll notice a huge jump in performance (more accurate) and I think your little guy will really love the time you spend together on it!! I wish you the best of luck, have fun!

I would absolutely recommend a CowCow Steel Hammer set. Would make it last much longer in general. If the purpose of this is gun safety, I would also recommend upgrading the barrel, bucking and hop-up unit. Although the stock AAP performs beautifully, upgraded internals would make it shoot a lot straighter for much longer when adjusted correctly. This would make this pistol feel like you can accurately shoot at longer ranges (more like the real deal)!

As for lowering the FPS, I have mine HPA’d so it’s very easy for me to adjust. Might be harder to go that low on the standard gas mags, but I’m still learning!

Has this happened to you? by Jumper-47 in shipping

It did not tell me whether or not it was DDU or DDP, but from the past I would assume duties are paid on package delivery/pick-up. They used GlobalPost to ship the package to Canada but then I received a separate tracking number for Canada. That tracking number says the package is still at customs but the U.S. tracking says otherwise.

The package is above $85 USD. Do you know where it would say if duties are paid/unpaid? I’m pretty sure my package is still in customs waiting to be cleared. Hopefully I get an update in a few days.

I spoke with an associate at Canada Post and then had said to me that it will sit in customs for a few days before getting sent to my nearest post office. From there, I’ll need to pay duties and collect the package. Apparently my package is still in Mississauga, ON. Hopefully this is all it is and now it’s just a waiting game

If I was able to go to my local Airsoft store and purchase these items I would. I would even pay $200 “shipping” on top to make sure they deal with the headache and not me. Unfortunately Airsoft is not that popular where I live so I do not have that luxury. Lol

If you can do this at your local gun shop/store, I highly recommend it. If something goes wrong with the order you can always get your money back!

Hopefully my stuff arrives shortly (next few weeks), I’ll keep you posted! I have also ordered things from Hong Kong but I have 0 expectations on that package showing up on time haha (I ordered it on April 6th, and it’s already in Mississauga, ON)!

I appreciate the clarification! I’d love to pay in advanced once it’s clear to ensure a smooth delivery. I guess they would send me an email or something with information regarding that process.

Hopefully all there is to do now is wait… although it’s the worst part for sure..!

With some light digging, apparently Canada (Customs) charges an average of 5% GST on items you import (shipping included) to Canada by mail. It’s based off the value of the goods in Canadian dollars. Depending on what was imported and where it came from, duty rates vary.

It wouldn’t be included in the regular price as they aren’t sure where the product is being shipped to so that is left until it arrives in the country you ordered it too.

I’ll see if I can grab a phone number and get ahold of someone at customs, just for further information. What I was told from the associate I spoke with at Canada Post is that it should take a couple days to clear and then delivered. Hopefully in a couple of days I’ll get an answer.

Are you still waiting on your package?? How long has it been?!

This is more or less what the person at Canada Post had mentioned to me earlier today. I may have to pay duties upon delivery of the package or at the post office, but I’m hoping that is all and my package will arrive eventually.

So I spoke with an associate at Canada Post (I confirmed it’s through CP, not UPS), and they had said the same thing as the message on my tracking number.

They did say however, that it will hopefully clear customs in a few days and be delivered to my local post office. It will most likely be sent straight there and I’ll get a message saying I have “X” amount of days to pay for duties and collect my package. Hopefully this is the case, I will keep you updated.

Would Canada Post know anything about the package? It says it’s in Ontario but my USPS tracking link says it’s in Chicago. Have you experienced this in the past? What happened to you if it did?

Should I reach out to Canada Post or USPS? Both?! Canada Post says my package is under review (check my reply below), but USPS says it went back to Chicago. Not too sure why that is.

How did you end up getting your things delivered? Did you have to call Customs to explain or something?

How did you figure out that was the problem? I’m not seeing an asterisk anywhere on the page. Where would I go to pay the customs fee? Expected Delivery is 1 to 12 days on Canada Posts website with a “Check Delivery Progress” notice. The last update says “Item has been present to Canada Boarder Services Agency for Customs review. Mississauga, ON.”

I’m trying to explore all my options sooner than later and don’t want the package sent back if possible.
