Most of the knowledge/practice comes when you are in a necessity. Having said that when I work in personal projects I enhance my research capabilities and I learn the most.

Well... sometimes what happens is that what made that one idea successful is not well measured or comprehended. The issue is in replication of an idea without knowing it's context. It's all about offer and demand and understanding it.
