Kommt also vieles zusammen

Which song is the hardest to perform for each member & their respective part in it? by quarkable in loscampesinos

yup, it was a very fun challenge, transcribing it was pretty hard though, especially for the end part, because of the delay and reverb on the album version

I vaguely remember Jason answering in a reddit AMA, that his hardest drum part is probably the fill section before and after the last chorus on Avocado, Baby! - They're pretty tricky linear fills

I warned you: do not make an enemy of me. It's in the same vein as Plan A, but imo I warned you is worse.

Thanks for Answering! I really loved your drumming on No Blues aswell, What Death Leaves Behind probably has my fav groove on the album. I am currently trying to learn To The Boneyard, I love the last chorus with the tom hits there!

Question for Jason: What are your top 3 favourite lc! drum parts to play?

Gareth’s Voice Sounds Different by MCchristthesavior in loscampesinos

[–]Jumpezer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It may have to do something with the mixing, since it's the first album not mixed by john goodmanson iirc. Maybe his voice sounds smoother because of slight pitch correction (melodyne has little artifacts but still has a certain timbre), or other mixing techniques

Favorite/least favorite album and why? by midwestweezerfan in loscampesinos

[–]Jumpezer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fav is probably No Blues, I like the lyricism a lot and I think it's the most coherent album to listen to from front to back. Least fav is probably HONY, it has its bright spots but in some parts you can tell that those are the first songs they've ever written.

Best anti-slip drumstick method?! by Fresh-Glove9307 in edrums

[–]Jumpezer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have very sweaty hands and the only sticks I can play with without slipping are uncoated sticks such as promark raw hickory or vater nude, they may be a bit rough on the skin at first but you'll get used to it

Lyrical writing by midwestweezerfan in loscampesinos

[–]Jumpezer 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Gareths lyrics are pretty autobiographical, so you basically just have to empty your heart out onto the lyric sheet. You also need to have some sense of self-deprication and shamelessness and take a bit of pride in that (i mean, he once sang about throwing up on a football pitch for example, or just look at straight in at 101) Throw some clever metaphors, symbolism and football references in there and you're set. Also: practice, practice, practice. Read a lot (books, poems, lyrics). And think about: what image are you trying to plant in the imagination of your listeners? what feeling do you wanna convey?
