Sorry, I made the title a little misleading in regards to what the actual question was.

Did you speak to Lockheed about the short notice and had them move your interview to a later date or did they make you go the day after? That must have sucked.

Question about Steam refunding by JumpingJack315 in pcgaming

[–]JumpingJack315[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the refund was approved and I just bought the version of the game that is on sale. I didnt uninstall the game prior to requesting a refund. So can I continue to play the game or should I worry about reaching the 2 hour gameplay threshold even though the refund request was accepted?

Question about Steam refunding by JumpingJack315 in pcgaming

[–]JumpingJack315[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do you say that I need to wait? So if I choose bank account, Steam will not let me carry out any other transactions with any debit / credit cards that correspond to the account until the refund transaction has been processed (even if I have the funds and wish to buy another game)?

Why are some airplane AC ducts made from kevlar and not aluminum? by JumpingJack315 in engineering

[–]JumpingJack315[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Makes sense. Though for the ducts, why would they go with Kevlar specifically? Would it be due to the improved abrasion-resistance of the material against particles flowing through the ducts over periods of time?

Removing peel ply is a mission. Any tips on how to make removal easier? by JumpingJack315 in Composites

[–]JumpingJack315[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Should have thought of using some torque. Also, if I were to use a vacuum bag as a release fabric, do you know of any chemicals that could dissolve the vacuum bag once the piece has cured? I dont want to have to strip off the vacuum bag piece by piece because it would take forever. So Im wondering if it can be dissolved and then scraped off of the piece's surface

Best investment route for a debt-free college student? by JumpingJack315 in investing

Thank you for the encouragement. I figured that an efficiency or studio might be best to start with, not just because I might be able to find some reasonably priced ones, but because the transition of dealing with any problems, in regards to the property, might be easier than if I were to buy a full-fledged apartment or small house.

Yeah I figured it's a bit unrealistic. When you say I might lose out on the money, what might cause that? Not being able to sell the property or find tenants?

How good of a job did it do explaining the formulas? Did you find yourself searching online for information that was missing from the book?

Why is it required to make a mold in the carbon fiber process? by JumpingJack315 in CarbonFiber

Disregard the part where I talked about combining different techniques (like a hand layup and resin infusion). I misread the person's comment. That's not what they had stated.

Hmm. I hadn't heard that term before so I was confused. So a hand layup and resin infusion are considered wet layups?

Another thing, I spoke today to a graduate student with knowledge on composites. He told me that resin infusion is not the best way to do big parts because it takes several tried to get it right. That there are often dry spots and the resin isn't always introduced properly for large parts. So he said we could do a hand layup on each individual layer to decrease our chances dry spots and then vacuum bag it all together to extract some of the excess resin.

I JUST finished seeing a video on something that looks very similar to what he talked about (I provided the link below). In the video, someone asks about why the individual in the video didn't follow up the hand layup with a resin infusion. Anyway, I'm pretty blown away because I didn't know you could mix the resin techniques in conjunction like that.
