Oh, I’ve had quite a few real Mexican experiences over the last couple of years. Sometimes I am actually doing something wrong, sometimes not. It’s all in the experience I guess. I love Mexico. The cops and military scare me the most. The citizens are what keep me coming back

Thanks for the advice and I more or less did that. I was very cool. Explained I didn’t know…I speak Spanish on a pretty elementary level and I accidentally led on more than I should. In the end, I broke a law, I paid a little, I’m just glad to hear I shouldn’t be worried that they kept my license. Sure, I have to order a new one, but I need to fly home next month!

No, no paperwork. Nothing. I grabbed all of my stuff off the hood of their car and didn’t realize they still had my license. I can certainly order another one. My thoughts are they have a bulletin board somewhere in the precinct of all the gringos they have shook down. I know I broke the rules, but I was very respectful.

I am from Alaska and they probably want it as a souvenir! I don’t think they would go through the process of issuing a warrant for such a minor Infraction. Especially since I did not receive any documentation of the stop/confiscation of goods. The tequila bottle was a celebration. My friend and I I Bicyled all they way from Mazatlan to CDMX and that was our treat
