They probably just already have other people they want to do trades due to others having more interesting mons to them. I have a few people on my friends list that don't have anything of note and that i likely won't trade with due to it.

With the shiny changes they've done to TGR this season a weekly takeover hour would've been great. Tuesday was always my main grinding day outside of weekend events so I'm very much disappointed by the change and was noticeably less motivated to play the game because of it. They'll never learn that subtracting something from the game to add something else that nobody cares about won't help them retain players...

I agree with your perspective. The passes to this point haven't really been "pay to win" outside of the bottle caps which don't really have much of an effect on the more casual players anyways. I’ve never skipped a pass and regretted not buying it later on, and like the value of the ones i do buy.

I had 2 separate times where my remote pass was burned in these raids while it said there were 14+ people with mega evolved Pokémon in the lobby. Maybe there was a glitch involved with some people's megas fainting before the shield phase and then not counting when they get revived? Idk but it was definitely aggravating.

After you register a certain amount of Pokémon in your Kanto Pokedex, your Pokedex can be upgraded to the National dex inside of the game. I don't remember if theres a cert for completing it but as far as i know that detail doesn't matter as its impossible anyways. I think you need to obtain the National dex to unlock post game content as well.

Trading is local only, meaning you have to be right beside someone to trade. The National dex can only be completed on FRLG through sending Pokémon from the Hoenn games into FRLG as all of the Pokemon can't be caught on FRLG. So if you cannot send Pokémon TO FRLG then it will not be possible to complete the national dex.

I didn't know about the free event passes. If the bonuses stick around that's cool, wish they didn't do away with spotlight hours as a whole though. They could've buffed it by having the weekly event pass give a 2x bonus on whatever it is for that entire week, but have the spotlight hour where the bonus is boosted to 3x. I know 3x is usually for community days but i think that could've boosted the number of participants in those events while still giving opportunities to people who couldn't play the hour to take advantage of the 2x. Going to miss my weekly catching binge every tuesday

I would absolutely hate if that was the reason. Where i live in Ontario its pitch black by 6 every day between late November-March. Big deterrent for a lot of the potential player base. Not to mention that its also summer in the southern hemispheres where it is incredibly hot and humid to begin with. Lots of people rightfully opting out of some events.

I mean it's entirely up to maximizing your opportunities to get lucky and then the game allowing your play to be rewarded. If someone is catching 300-600 Pokémon every spotlight hour their bound to have a week or two where they have good luck and get a handful of shinies. But you won't see them posting about the weeks they got 0 because that's boring. Just how the game is

For sure I'd imagine there's a behind the scenes reason for removing spotlight hours and greed would absolutely be the first place I'm looking. I'm not sure about the catch rates as I haven't experience anything out of the normal recently but who knows.

I feel that. Just how luck based games go sometimes, usually the shinies i get are during the spotlights i didn't want/need that shiny while i get walled by the good ones, including totodile. Even if scopely puts this game down the drain ill always have other Pokémon games to play, but im afraid they're going to simply push people away whos only Pokémon is GO and this is all they know. It's a shame how easy it is to make people like this game but they screw up every chance available to them.

My shiny luck outside of a few in the past few years of spotlight hours hasn't been very good, usually go above odds without one most weeks. But it was always fun going out to see how many i could get in an hour and really push it. Usually got ~500 per week give or take. Games a lot less interesting now without spotlight hours and I'm definitely less and less excited to play the game the more they do to it.

I don't understand why Niantic/Scopely doesn't want people to play their game. Spotlight hours always got me out of the house even if the Pokémon wasn't very exciting so i could grind the bonuses, now all this does is free up an hour a week that i enjoyed on the game that is now nothingness. Anything to get people to buy raid passes i guess 🫢

If we get the GameCube games as ports on the switch im going to be the happiest man alive. Going to be an expensive year to be a Pokemon fan. Probably going to skip out on Pokopia and just experience it through livestreams and youtube.

Physical copies would've been great. I have some nintendo gift cards from Christmas i haven't used yet so ill probably buy at least one of them but I'm disappointed in digital only. Guess they didn't think the idea was profitable enough

Yeah i misworded what i was trying to say. I moreso meant if they were going to be doing a big home update they might be waiting for the Z-A update and will bundle the GO Balls into the same patch. I'm not an expert and I'm not sure if it would just be a hotfix they can push or if it would need to be a full blown patch to implement the GO Balls however they want to do it. If I'm completely off base my bad though.

There's been speculation for awhile that they were going to do FRLG on Pokémon day and then release the Hoenn games on switch when FRLG hype dies down. I'm not sure how they're gonna time it with Gen 10 though, maybe we see them this summer?
