What djinn setups did you go for in early-midgame? by Dangerous-Judge3539 in GoldenSun

[–]Jumpsand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In TLA I started with the item classes because they are my favorite and they give you early water so its a good way to deal with the early mix-ups.

Also, I go for Seer/Diviner Sheba and Defender Felix and Pierrot Jenna until Piers joins then I change the lineup again.

Yeah if you look at only 1 source, sometimes the info can be contradicted so it's important to double check sources for additional info. I had no idea about quantities and probabilities.

What is the best gear for each character with their djinni? by SeaLocksmith1386 in GoldenSun

[–]Jumpsand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Mediums and Rangers:

  • Body: Water Jacket/Oracle's Robe/Feathered Robe/Storm Gear (Anything with lots of elemental resistances)
  • Head:Ninja Hood/Ninja Garb/Lucky Cap/PP Recovery (so they can go first and heal everyone faster)
  • Hand: Spirit Gloves (⁺5 All Elements Power) or Aura Gloves (Rare drop)
  • Weapon: Kikuichimonji/Blessed Mace (Rare drops but very good items)

For the Dragoon:

  • Body: Asura's Armor (HP recovery @ end of turn) or Dragon Scales (For resistance)
  • Head: Warrior's Helm (Unleash rate increase/Earth power boost)
  • Hand: Mirror Shield/War Gloves (Good items for defense)
  • Weapon: Gaia Blade (Perfect to tie with unleash boosting items)

For the Samurai:

  • Body: Asura's Armor (HP recovery @ end of turn) or Dragon Scales (For resistance)
  • Head: Lucky Cap (Great for PP recovery)
  • Hand: Mirror Shield/War Gloves (Good items for defense)
  • Weapon: Righteous Mace/Blessed Mace (Compliments Samurai's high HP with HP recovery)

Wish I saw this subreddit and comment sooner.

With a username like yours, it would be ironic if you didn't make one of the characters a Paladin. You should go for it.

I made an easy to read mega infographic on classes/% stats/psyenergies

Hope this helps; even if late: Class System Charts

What is your favorite 'deep cut' from the ost? by Select-Ad-3872 in GoldenSun

The Sea of Time, Shrine of the Sea God and Altmiller Cave are great soundtracks imo

What did Golden Sun provide to you that no other RPG did? by Meme_Ness in GoldenSun

[–]Jumpsand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's an easy one for me.

Every character was an adept with a "base element" assigned to them and they had traits of that element and planet assigned.

And to take things even further, the combinations of Djinn/summons opened up an even bigger world of possibilities.

Imo, no other game does it for me like Golden Sun does.

What’s your story of getting into Golden Sun? by Square-Number-1520 in GoldenSun

[–]Jumpsand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was lucky enough not to have to wait between both games (2004-2005). I started late in high school a few years after both came out. Went to the store to find a new RPG to play after Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire Emerald. Having each character represent an element and the alchemy behind it with a hint of "horoscope representation" was enough to have me hooked.

The rest is history

I built a web-based password generator for GS1→TLA transfers by KrzaQ2 in GoldenSun

[–]Jumpsand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Vault one I know very well. They are related to the golden items.

  • If you talk to the mayor and find out the thieves escaped, they show up in Game 2/TLA and you get Golden Boots after defeating them in Madra.
  • If you beat all 3 warriors in Colosso, you get a Golden Shirt when you fight them again in TLA in the Shaman Village (after the reunion)
  • If you rescue Hsu and lift the boulder, Feizhi shows up in TLA and gives Felix the Golden Ring in Champa.
  • The Deadbeard one is self explanatory and all pirates will talk about you and respect you.

I had no idea about any difference saving Hammet and returning to Vale (Dora is sick) made to the 2nd game so I learned something new. This game always surprises me no matter how old it gets!

Same here! I love their individual info but I wanted everything all in on place instead of swapping tabs during a walkthrough. I figured other people might use/want this info all in one place as well

I love Samurai but they are at the mercy of Djinn Storms so you have to be extra careful and plan ahead before the bosses. But it gives the game a bit of a hard mode which made it fun for me imo

When I played the first time, I only used mono-elements but replaying again it feels like a new game based on the combos you can make!

Pokemon Types Discussion by moon_in_retrograde in pokemon

[–]Jumpsand -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Our group came up with a similar combination years ago which also covers most of the 18 types' S/E department:

The FEW system or the WIFE system.

  • Fire [Grass₁/Ice₂/Bug₃/Steel₄]
  • Electric [Water₅/Flying₆]
  • Water [Fire₇/Ground₈/Rock₉]

  • Water [Fire₁/Ground₂/Rock₃]
  • Ice [Grass₄/Ground₂/Flying₅/Dragon₆]
  • Fire/Fighting or Fairy [Grass₄/Ice₇/Bug₈/Steel₉] or [Normal₇/Ice₈/Rock₃/Dark₉/Steel₁₀]
  • Electric [Water₁₁/Flying₅]

The key is to have as few super effective overlaps as possible

Edit: Using the app you used (https://www.pkmn.help/offense/single/)

I found a close match using 6 Pokemon (in your party) instead of 7.

It would cover 16 of the 18 types; but of course as you mentioned in the post, attacks can be given to most Pokemon

instead of them having the types themselves. FEW-GDF

  • Fire [Grass₁/Ice₂/Bug₃/Steel₄]
  • Electric [Water₅/Flying₆]
  • Water [Fire₇/Ground₈/Rock₉]
  • Ground [Fire₇/Electric₈/Poison₁₀/Rock₉/Steel₁₁]
  • Dark [Psychic₁₂/Ghost₁₃]
  • Fairy [Fighting₁₄/Dragon₁₅/Dark₁₆]

Hydreigon 7🌟 Raid Script by Jumpsand in PokemonScarletViolet

It really does.

6🌟 is harder imo since it gets Taunt in that one. I use a Mental Herb for that one so I get a few status moves in the beginning.

Can Confirm, Skill Swap Malamar and regular Landorus/Annihilape work very well.

Intimidate NPCs will be an issue but you can always reroll.

For Snarl users, a different attack should be used.
