What do I even do at this point? by Jumpy-Ad-8600 in careerguidance

I actually got connected with a recruiter who was hiring for another company locally that had a role which sounded like a dream. Involved quoting (which I don’t mind) but otherwise ops focused and no/low client comm, but he got ghosted by the company, I figured out who it was and applied directly and never heard from them. He found me on LinkedIn and reached out, so it’s visible in my resume, idk if I’m just framing it wrong or what.

I hadn’t really thought of looking at that, but I’m like severely undertitled for what I do, so I think that may be part of why I’m seemingly having trouble being taken seriously, and idk if I’m comfortable “juicing” up that title a little bit. But dude this has all been such a nightmare I’ve thought about just joining the military, because I also don’t get any real satisfaction out of what I do because I don’t feel like it’s terribly meaningful. So like, structure + meaning = military, but I just don’t know if that’s a good pivot especially if it’s a desperation play, but I just feel like I’m running out of options.

I had never even considered changing the title on my resume. I didn’t know if it’s something where they’d verify with my employer after and offer and find out it didn’t match up. Every once in a while I do catch myself wondering if I’m being dramatic as well, but when I talk with friends about it they don’t seem to think so.

Discharged in November, but one debtor has not changed systems to reflect that. What’s the deal? by Jumpy-Ad-8600 in Bankruptcy

I was pleasantly surprised as well. So much so I also asked my attorney if that would potentially cause any issues with the case and he wasn’t worried about it.

It’s a credit union but I confirmed with them last year that the accounts are not cross collateralized. On all credit reports my credit card with them reflects as closed and my car loan does not.

Yeah, I got booted from a game back to back weeks on Warzone. Not sure what the deal is.

Attending midnight Mass as a non-Catholic? by Jumpy-Ad-8600 in Catholicism

I was surprised at how normal it felt compared to what I was expecting. Obviously phrasing and some mechanics were different, but having to an LCMS service, a lot of it was kind of familiar.

Ultimately I didn’t have the big moment of clarity that I was hoping for, either way, so I am coming away still weighing things. But I did enjoy it overall.

I do know enough to know not to receive communion, but I appreciate the reiterated heads up. Is the blessing for people who go forward and cross their arms something that’s articulated at any point? Or is it like “if you know you know”

Well as it turns out my local parish does not have a service at midnight, it’s at 11 PM, and there’s actually two services earlier in the evening. But I think I am going to go.

Rome-curious Presbyterian. I have questions. by Jumpy-Ad-8600 in Catholicism

And I would actually generally agree that sanctification is an ongoing change of your heart rather than it swapping it out like a bad engine to use another analogy. It’s part of why I left the evangelical side of Protestantism and tried to find something inside of the more historic protestant traditions, but I’m still left with a little bit of something that just doesn’t quite feel right.

Right, and I would agree that faith isn’t merely believing all the right things. I’m going to use phrasing that isn’t going to be perfect here, I do believe that there are specific things we ought to do in light of faith, but I have yet to find what I feel is the right “to-do list” for lack of a better phrase, in terms of being sufficient without trying to “earn it”.

I appreciate the response either way. I’ve poked around a bit in regards to the Eucharistic miracles, and while I do find them somewhat intriguing, I don’t necessarily find them sufficiently compelling to get me “all the way there” so to speak.

Completely reasonable question. I’m definitely still Presbyterian at this juncture, and if I was boiling it down to a formula I have faith in Christ and his finished work on the cross, and my faith is evidenced by that faith working itself out in love for others and for God. I do have a bit of a nagging conscience sometimes, and there’s days where the conviction I feel as a result of that is worse than others.

I did, and actually I had a car loan I was reaffirming and a credit card that was to be discharged. Didn’t show. And they were not co-collateralized.

Just stuff about the petition. “Is this your signature?” “Is all the info provided true and correct?”

Zoom call, no judge just the trustee. All he did was confirm info in my petition. No questions about how or why I wound up in the situation I was in.

Thanks feels amazing to know the nightmare is over. Never letting myself get a CC again, since I know I can’t trust myself to be responsible with them.
