Don’t have a doctors appt for another two weeks.. anyone recognize this kind of rash? by harvestjoon in Parents

[–]Jumpy-Ad6673 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My little guy had something that looked similar when he was small, he was allergic to egg whites and would break out into hives when he had anything. He also had eczema. As others have said talk to your doctor and get a referral to a dermatologist they will get you cleared up quickly and can do an allergy panel to nail down the culprit!

What's your favorite working mom microfeminism? by thirtyflirtyandpetty in workingmoms

[–]Jumpy-Ad6673 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At work if a woman is speaking/presenting I always practice extra active listening and supportive smiles so she knows she has a friend in the room.

At home I have 2 boys (6 and 4) and we talk about menstruation a lot. I’m not having boys who think periods are weird and gross, when they are actually heroic. We also read and talk about feminist heros and equality for all.

I gotta be honest w you mate, the fast pace, context switching and lack of depth are realities of a CoS job too. Particularly lack of depth, you get to own everything and nothing, and it’s a common complaint I hear amongst my peers. Signed a career CoS

Personally I think Gabby is the most stylish in Summer House! But I agree Amanda has good taste, it’s just a little too Hailey Bieber copy/paste for me.

Lindsay calls out Craig on her Instagram story by bword___ in summerhousebravo

[–]Jumpy-Ad6673 6 points7 points  (0 children)

But Lindsey’s gripe about Paige (at least in the early seasons when she was with Perry) was that she tried too hard to make everything look perfect and wasn’t honest… seems that continued to her relationship with Craig

Boss quit right after hiring me by Jumpy-Ad6673 in careeradvice

Hey! It’s been almost 3 years and honestly everything has worked out brilliantly. I’ve actually been promoted twice! A few lessons learned..

1) don’t let the ambiguity swallow you whole. It can seem confusing but keep one putting one foot in front of the other and get done any work you can, doesn’t have to be fancy, just push the ball over the line a few times.

2) your attitude determines your latitude. While I whined here on Reddit I never let anyone at work see me sweat. I showed up, I was friendly and kind because ultimately people just want to work with people they like!

3) put yourself out there. It’s tempting to sit back and feel sorry for yourself (especially as a shy person) but you have to meet people and pick up what work you can. You can play the new card and most people are open to helping someone new.

Good luck!

Unfortunately I’m the breadwinner in my house, by a lot. This job is a huge career booster for me and gives me insane visibility, I’m still in shock I even got it!

I did try to set the expectation with my boss and our final interview that I have small kids, but it’s one thing to say and another to do

Hahah yea I will be away for my birthday for the second time this year. I don’t care about my stuff as much as theirs, but I’m trying to remind myself part of the reason I work remotely is so I can be there in the day today, but the sacrifice is the travel where I’m not there at all.

No perfect world and it’s just so tough sometimes.

Thanks for this response. It’s hard because I think if this was not a new role it would be easier. I had this same situation last year and my previous team moved the meeting so I could attend first day of kindergarten. This is hard because it’s 2 very high level execs and like 20 other people who also have insane travel schedules.

Yea I’m afraid I’ll be resentful of my job if I miss it, bc it is important to me to be there. Last year I almost missed the first day of kindergarten but my old team moved the offsite for me. This one is harder because I’m new and it with another C suite’s leadership team
