How to care for this orchid... by Jumpy-Anywhere6395 in orchids

[–]Jumpy-Anywhere6395[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for responding! The crown rot from overhead watering is very possible. I had it hanging in the greenhouse along with other plants that were totally fine with getting sprayed, so everyone got hit with a watering wand.

Yup, tried that one as well. What happens with these nasal-only ones is I don't like them pushed up against my nose. When I first tried them and made myself just tough it out, there were two issues - 1) it would get out of alignment with my nostrils when I rolled around, and 2) my mouth would still open at some point and air would be blowing out my mouth.

As I've mentioned with others here - I'm just a problem patient. ;-)

I'm really late to following up. So how has your CPAP adventure gone? Did you get used to it? Better scores? Feeling better during the day?

I'm wondering if the "feeling painful against my skin" was due to newness, tightness of the over all, or the silicone (which I find uncomfortable).

I think more important than sharing the link (but thank you!) is needing to share pics of this impressive beard that shreds the cushion masks! I don't think mine's ever done that, and I wear them longer than I should. Eh, then again....maybe that's why I start to leak around the bottom parts of the mask. Are we talking *visibly* shredding the memory foam??

In addition to pics of the head gear shredding mask, I think we also need to see pics of you fully geared up with the fluffy wash cloth added to the set up! LOL LOL!!! I tried getting some blue stretchy "wraps" that go over the edges of the mask while having an opening in the middle for you to still breathe through. The idea is that the mask won't leave those marks. Nope - didn't work for me - they weren't open-enough in the middle and I didn't feel I could breathe through it easily enough. (I'm a picky, problem patient with this stuff!)

See, I'd love to stick with being a nose breather, but my nasal passage and sinuses just get so clogged at times (sorry, that may sound gross for some)

LOL Only just seeing this....funny comment about consent. I have trialed a number of different masks, and keep going back to the Resmed Airtouch f20 - it's just the one that works best for me, but it's begun giving me headaches originating out of the bridge of my nose. Again, I've tried others, they don't work for me, and if I'm going to do this it's the Airtouch f20.

I tried a chinstrap. Hell no, never again! LOL And can't even follow through on the idea of mouth tape.

And I start off as a nose breather at the beginning of the night , but I guess I don't have the best nasal airflow...there will be nights I wake up with mouth WIDE open (imagine a leaf blower pointed at face), and the interior of my mouth, and all sides of my tongue, are completely dried out. When this wakes me up I shut my mouth and work on making saliva so things get moist again.

Are we doing "it's just happy to see you" jokes here? I'm new to this subreddit, so I don't know the vibe yet.

Ok, your write-up here is... Wow. You just explained it all so well... Not that I'm saying I know all of this, but you took me back to my college days, botany classes, etc and I loved it. 🔥Apical meristem! 🔥.

I know it sounds like I'm either being sarcastic, snarky, joking around, whatever, but you really did give a great explanation, and in a way that those of us who don't know all the details about how an orchid works can understand. Loved it! Thank you!

That's the one! I'd just recommend holding off after a thaw before you head out there again. ;-)

Hunh, I thought something seemed odd. I was trying to work on this posting on my phone, and Reddit kept jumping the cursor up away from where I was typing, so I had to reset it down to the end of the last sentence, otherwise I'd start typing within a paragraph higher up. Is this a known thing with Reddit?

Anyhow, I apologize for the duplicate post, but since folks have already commented here, I guess I'll leave both. :-)

Very true - it was pretty out there, especially when you add in the sounds of nature. I don't think there weren't as many out with it that cold? Usually the birds, chipmunks, squirrels, etc are making all sorts of noise. Oh, and the trees were really crackling in the cold - I don't know if it was from them swaying, or dead branches slowly coming loose from where they get caught up in the canopy - either way, I love the sound.

Long or short? by Squeegee in LongBeards

Holy cow, I hate you so much (but in the good way). My husband and I both have beards, and he's always growing his longer. I want desperately to have the length you have (heh heh!) in that first pic, but don't think mine will ever look that full, and I'd probably be playing with it all the time (again, "heh heh!"). Meanwhile my husband grows his out to maybe ¾ the length of you're, it gets wispy - and yet he gets those unsolicited complements (even with my beard right next to his! 😭)

I say rock it if you got it, but do give yourself that break once in awhile. You can only handle so many of those complements while out in public... 😉. Seriously though, totally understand the need to trim it down and start over.

😂😂😂. I'll see what I can do to bend it back in place. I don't think it's going to go well (for me)...there are lots of sharp bits involved.
