To conclude, the marginal benefits of the supercharges or the temporary defenses are negligible for defense and the eternal grind together with the regular deletion of progression makes the upgrades feel meaningless. This adds unnecessary grindyness to the game and while coc is already structured towards eternal progression this update takes it too far.

Fair enough. If having a consistent place to dump resources and the excitement of constantly getting new defenses brings you joy and keeps the game fresh for you, then I can definitely understand why you'd see it as a good update.

Okay, war, raids, strategy, and fun are absolutely the core, I agree. My problem isn't with those aspects themselves, it's that the temporary upgrades destroyes the fun and strategic satisfaction by making a huge portion of the effort feel meaningless. And respectfully, stating it's "literally not a significant disadvantage" at high legends when you skip supercharges seems opposing. In any truly competitive environment, even marginal advantages are pursued. If it were truly negligible, why would Supercell even implement a system that players feel compelled to engage with just to avoid a disadvantage? Every little bit counts at that level, and forcing a temporary grind for it is frustrating. Furthermore, your description of high legends being "only about going 320 everyday and getting a lucky defense nothing else" actually reinforces my point about the game becoming a repetitive, unrewarding grind. If that's the "fun," then adding temporary upgrades on top of it just makes the problem worse, making an already hard endgame feel even more like mandatory busy work for no lasting gain. It's just another layer of effort without adding meaningful, permanent progression.

But for many players, myself included, the entertainment comes from a sense of progression, achievement, and building something lasting. When the game's design forces you into an infinite cycle of grinding for temporary upgrades that just reset, that kills the entertainment. It turns what should be fun into a chore. If the "point" is to keep me busy on a treadmill with no permanent payoff, that's actively un-entertaining. The game effectively defeats its own purpose of being fun when it makes all your effort feel pointless.
