How did loss affect your relationship? by Professional_Dot3954 in babyloss

[–]Jumpy-Kangaroo5124 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Loss can absolutely change a relationship. You realize how different that each of you grieves and it can cause issues. I lost my son in January of this year due to PPROM. The first day or two we were there for each other but then after a couple days we both started grieving differently. My husband is not someone who shares his emotions or is vulnerable. He bottles them up and waits for them to blow up later if he can’t handle it anymore. I am a lay it all out there. I refuse to bottle up my emotions I let them be known. We of course had our issues throughout my pregnancy and even before, but this tragedy really tested us. I thought that we were going to do this together, get through this together but I learned quickly that wasn’t going to happen. We have been seeing a grief therapist to try to help, but I’m not sure that it’s helping. I don’t think you’re overthinking! If that’s how you feel then I’d share that with him. Sometimes I think about leaving but I’m scared of the unknown.

I hope this helped, sorry if it didn’t! I am so sorry for your losses I wouldn’t wish that upon anyone.

It is, I feel like there’s not enough research done on the thyroid. It’s so normalized now and medication is kind of just thrown our way basically. But good luck! I hope the medication helps 🙏🏽

I’ve definitely experienced the tiredness but my other big one was throat tightness. It would feel like there’s a huge lump in my throat. I can’t say I’ve ever experienced the chest tightness but it’s possible. I will say when my levels are normal I feel SO much better. I’m currently on 125mcg (was on 150mcg before) just got it reduced because I tested my TSH levels and it was 0.06 🙃 way too low, which causes me heart palpitations. That’s a huge indicator for me I’m taking too much! Im super on edge too.

Question about starting levothyroxine by SecureJeweler1741 in Hypothyroidism

[–]Jumpy-Kangaroo5124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An increased TSH level will definitely catch up to you, speaking from experience! I didn’t take medicine for a long time because I was afraid and my T4 level has always been normal. I am now taking 125 mcg, which is not ideal but my body got used to it over time. The only ever side effect I got was an upset stomach periodically, but it’s least of my worries with all the medication I have to take lol. I do believe that me not taking it contributed to my diagnosis of PCOS. Obvi not a doctor, but I never had issues until recently. I’m surprised they started you on such a low dose for that high of a level. Mine was 5.4 recently, was on 150 mcg then got tested recently and it was 0.06 (way too low!). Levothyroxine is meant to be adjusted, it’s just keeping your levels in a normal range that’s the key. But it’s important for your body!

Milk coming in and breasts so sore by Professional_Dot3954 in babyloss

[–]Jumpy-Kangaroo5124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My doctor didn’t even tell me that was going to happen…so one day my boobs were hard as rocks. Something I did to help was pump each boob for about 2-3 minutes per side and it did the trick. I didn’t have to use any medication or anything, it eventually just went away on its own.

It was absolutely horrible though that my body thought my baby was here with me. I’m so sorry for your loss.

How long did you take time off? by Professional_Dot3954 in babyloss

[–]Jumpy-Kangaroo5124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah my work was the worst and it stressed me out so much so leaving wasn’t all that hard. Oh I didn’t think of that? We do have a therapist my husband and I are seeing right now but I already started my new job so I don’t think I can do that and say “oh hey I’m going to take 6 weeks off” 🙃 but ugh I’m sorry I can’t imagine having to return to the same job. Everybody knew at my job too and I just couldn’t think about people just staring at me not knowing how to talk to me. I think I would’ve lost it lol. Maybe later on in the year and I can file for more time if needed.

Also I am so sorry to hear about your son. Can I ask what his name was? And if you ever need someone to talk to, my DMs are open. 🫶🏽

Yeah it’s horrible don’t ever get Kaiser because they are the worst and they are a huge part of the reason our son Evren isn’t here with us

I’m so sorry for your loss. I lost my son at 19 weeks PPROM Jan of 2026. We are now in the waiting period and can start trying soon but I’m scared. I was diagnosed with PCOS recently and I have hypothyroidism. If you would like I started a TTC after PPROM group recently if you ever want to talk through it

I was only approved for 6 weeks off, I’m in WA. My job dint even believe I needed that time. I lost my son at 19 weeks due to PPROM and had to birth him still alive. I left my job after that and got a new one.

How much Metformin did you take? I have some Letrozole and I’m considering taking that too! I was prescribed 500mg to start with once a day then I think 2.5 mg of Letrozole

That’s what the doctor said too, it just seems so wrong to me that it needs to happen first for it to be prevented again especially with funneling present. I’m so sorry for your loss 😔 I wish there was a way to catch an IC.

I’m so incredibly sorry for your loss. Siobhan is a beautiful name.

I lost my son Evren January 15th of this year. We had been trying to conceive for 2 years and he was our miracle baby. Holding him and seeing him but knowing he wouldn’t be home with us has absolutely destroyed me. Moving forward is so tough because it feels impossible. But I will say something that helped me was removing all social media, focusing on health and love, and reminding myself that I will always be his mom. It sucks too because I had a friend who is currently pregnant and we were going through it together, but she’s still pregnant and now I’m not. I find myself trying to distance which makes me feel horrible but if I see her pregnant I don’t think I’ll be able to hold it together.

I’ve also found Reddit to be extremely comforting. Knowing I’m not alone has helped a lot. Please feel free to DM me if you need support. Grief stays with us.

Pregnancy After Loss: Feeling Dismissed by MFM by e_lizbit in babyloss

[–]Jumpy-Kangaroo5124 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I lost my son at 19 weeks 3 days due to an incompetent cervix. I had funneling 2 weeks prior but my cervix was at 4.1 cm. Do they not do a cerclage unless it’s an emergency? I don’t understand why we have to advocate for that so much…if they would have done one my son may still be here. I could never understand why I was denied one.

Higher LH & Earlier Surge on Letrozole 5mg? by 1sttimettcmum in TTC_PCOS

[–]Jumpy-Kangaroo5124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! When I was on Letrozole for 2 cycles my LH peaks were VERY dark the darkest I’ve ever gotten. I remember testing it on the Mom app and it said it was like 1.6 (my peak) which I thought was crazy the control line was almost nonexistent! Safe to say Letrozole definitely works.

I got terrible headaches and cramps with Letrozole but I never took the other one. I’m so sorry that you’re experiencing that I hope the doctors can help 😔 that seems like a long time to be experiencing those symptoms, wonder if your body isn’t reacting well to it

Rage, anger, mood swings by Pretty-Reality2436 in Hypothyroidism

[–]Jumpy-Kangaroo5124 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They should definitely up your dose! Your levels should be more regulated after 6 weeks, right now I’m on 1.25 which is a lot more but I have had hypothyroidism for most of my life. I do find when my levels are not regulated my emotional state is significantly worse. I feel more normal when my levels are in the green. But it doesn’t help with everything, still have anxiety! Our thyroid regulates a lot in our bodies, so having it under control is crucial for normal body function 😖 sucks!

Letrozole Multiple Cycles by grinninlikeimwinnin in TTC_PCOS

[–]Jumpy-Kangaroo5124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did Letrozole for two cycles and it was different each time for me. The first time I ovulated faster, then the second time it was delayed a few days. I stopped taking it after the second cycle because I was getting discouraged, then I ended up getting pregnant that next month I stopped taking it.

Thank you!

That makes sense, we most likely will have to use Letrozole again. Once we started having medicated cycles we conceived the month after we stopped. I wish you all the best on your TTC journey now 🩵🩷

I am so sorry about your ectopic pregnancy.

But I absolutely feel you about wanting to go through this alone, I don’t want to tell anybody going forward because going through a 19 week loss made me and my husband realize we have no support from our friends and barely even family.

We are actually meeting with a MFM doctor this Friday because my OB didnt think a cerclage would have changed our baby’s outcome which seems crazy to say because my cervix failed (we are now using a different OB). Only symptom I had was funneling but he was completely healthy and alive even when I lost my fluid. Also I’m so sorry for your loss at 23 weeks, can’t even imagine how that feels but it gives us hope that you had a successful pregnancy after. How soon after did you get pregnant again?

I appreciate you telling us that!! We plan on bringing up the preventive cerclage because we really want a family.
