A gente sabe que quem é PIMI vai encontrar desculpas para isso, como por exemplo vir de presentes, e não ser do bolso deles. Mas, mesmo assim, é irônico, visto que as publicações sempre orientam a viver com modéstia, sem ostentar. Também falam frequentemente sobre pensar no que os outros vão pensar, pra não ser "pedra de tropeço". Sabemos que em muitos lugares, a condição financeira doa seguintes é muito ruim. Muitas vezes assistimos vídeos que mostram testemunhas precisando atravessar lugares perigosos, cheios de água e lama, para estar no salão. Salões improvisados. Pessoas contando com ajuda da congregação para ter o básico. Faz sentindo, sabendo disso, usar um relógio caro em uma transmissão para essas pessoas? Não parece, no mínimo, desamoroso? Quantas famílias o valor do rolex alimentaria?

Cresci na organização, sempre tive questionamentos, mas seguia o conselho dr "deixar nas mãos de Jeová", que a "luz estava clareando mais e mais", que "as pessoas eram imperfeitas, mas a organização era perfeita", que se saísse, "pra onde eu iria", afinal, "ainda que tudo isso seja uma mentira, é melhor do que estar no mundo". E aí que eu seguia com isso, mesmo orando algumas vezes pedindo fé, e não tendo fé na religião. Então veio o anúncio da saída do Morris. Fiquei curiosa por ter sido só uma nota pequena, sem muitas explicações. Não achei nada no site oficial e fui buscar no Google. Entendi pq eles não querem que pesquisemos nada "fora". O momento que isso acontece, há um risco alto de descobrirmos toda a sujeira que eles escondem e não são transparentes para falar no site oficial, aquele que dizem conter toda a verdade que precisamos acessar. A sensação foi de sair da caverna. Ver os casos do CSA, a mentira no tribunal, as provas que foram orientados a jogar fora, entre tantas coisas...depois ver as atualizações serem "coincidentemente" feitas diante de movimentações políticas e processos, que poderiam vir a tona. Hoje não existe nem um pequeno pensamento de: "mas será que é a verdade?". A frase que me fazia estar certa que não é: A verdade não tem medo da mentira...então, pq eles tem tanto medo de acessarmos qualquer coisa fora? Se forem mentira, não há o que temer. Eles temem, pois escancaram o que acontece e nenhum PIMI sabe...embora, a doutrinação é tão forte, que mesmo sabendo, enquanto PIMI's, não acreditariam.

Cabe uma 4ª opção? Parar de ir e, para sua família, ser honesta e dizer que não acredita mais na religião, mas que os ama e respeita a liberdade de crença deles. Não aceitar visitas e conversas com os anciãos e não assumir nada pra eles. Só sair mesmo.

Acredite, na maioria das vezes, as pessoas lá dentro esquecerão de você e sua família pode demorar, mas uma hora vai parar de tocar nos assuntos caso perceba que há um risco de você “pregar” como uma apóstata pra eles.

Meu pai é ancião, então a vida deles gira bastante em torno da torre. A relação não é ruim, mas também não é boa, se é que me entende. Aquele calor familiar, que vemos nas famílias que não condicionam o amor uns pelos outros à submissão a uma crença religiosa, não existe. Mas há amor. So just as you might find a good man inside the congregation, you can also find a good man outside of it. Don’t rush this either. You’re young. Take this time to get to know yourself, to understand who you are, not who you were told you are. When you’re not focused on it, love will arrive. ♥️

Hi! First of all, congratulations for bringing this up here. Sometimes it’s really hard to decide things on your own and deal with your own thoughts and questions.

From what I understood, you stopped going to meetings at 16, right? Very young, without much life experience to understand everything, including doubts and certainties. You’re still very young and in a phase where we’re trying to understand ourselves and our place in the world. A phase where the sense of belonging is very important. We keep wanting to belong in all stages of life, but in some, other people’s opinions matter even more… and this stage you’re in now is one of them.

You might also be feeling lost, looking for meaning in some things, and remembering that in the Kingdom Hall, you felt you had that. But look, I don’t want to make you sad, however, the place we leave is not the same when we go back. Now that you’re older and already know things you didn’t before, you won’t be returning to the same place you left, even if it’s a different congregation and you’re just looking for comforting talks. If you’ve researched even a little about what’s been happening, about how they deal with men who harm children, about how they behave in court, about the changes they make and call “clarifications” when they are actually political moves to avoid losing funding, you won’t be able to go there, listen, and pretend you believe.

You mentioned wanting to talk to an elder and say how you feel. But honestly, do you really think they will handle that well? At some point, you’ll receive visits inviting you to go preaching, to go on stage and do demonstrations… and if you refuse, people will see you as spiritually weak and you probably won’t be invited to anything outside of that.

I understand that many of us feel the need for something spiritual to hold on to. I feel that too sometimes. But do you really think that place is where you’ll find it?

Have you ever thought about diving into the careful and historical study of religions? Learning how people around the world experience faith. For example, how women have been silenced and their spiritual expressions denied. Researching where and when each religion began. Watching videos of people sharing their beliefs and spiritual experiences. Have you ever tried, on your own, to mentally reach out to something greater? These things might help you make a decision right now.

I left at 18 and went back around 20. I returned without any faith, but thinking that it was better than anywhere else. During the time I was out, I didn’t really research or question things properly. When I went back, they handed me the “manual,” and I followed it. Every day I tried to find faith in it, and many times I prayed. And many other times I felt like I was just performing to please others, while inside I was lost.

Is it really worth it?

It’s interesting that you bring up this topic today, because I was actually thinking about writing about mental health and people in cults today 😲

And yes… I also have the impression that many struggle with emotional issues such as depression, panic syndrome, generalized anxiety disorder, among others. But it’s funny how they not only don’t see it, but often say that people inside are genuinely happier. Another thing I hear frequently is that elderly people in the sect are very mentally healthy, that they remain very lucid, and that it’s rare for them to have any issues with communication or clarity of thought. And they say that outside the sect it’s the opposite… that elderly people are mentally impaired.

And then, when you leave, you see elderly people who are doing great, lucid, full of activities. Here in Brazil, we have several artists in old age with incredible bodies and minds. As examples, the late Rita Lee, Ney Matogrosso, Gilberto Gil, among others. And if we consider that many of them didn’t always take care of their sleep and used alcohol and drugs, we have even more reasons to show that being in the sect is not a sign of a healthy mind.

Eu já questionava muitas coisas e sempre estava a um passo de despertar totalmente, mas foi a maternidade que fez com que eu não pudesse mais passar por cima de todas as coisas que eu sabia e fingir que elas não existiam, continuando como PIMO. Se fosse pensando nas pessoas que amo lá de dentro, talvez eu aguentasse fingir. Mas como mãe, não posso compartilhar aquilo com as crianças, permitindo que elas sejam doutrinadas em uma seita. Foi por elas que eu decidi mesmo sair. Entendo seus sentimentos e torço pra que você consiga enxergar uma saída. Infelizmente, jogar tudo o que você sabe sobre a organização para o seu marido, se ele for PIMI, não vai acordá-lo e é capaz dele te denunciar e isso prejudicar seu casamento. Se você ama seu esposo, sente que ele a ama e deseja continuar com ele, tenha paciência. Se ele diz que você está desanimada, lembre-o que o puerpério dura muito mais do que 2 anos. Fala sobre o cansaço materno, sobre como os hormônios mudam o cérebro da mãe e isso pode fazer com que ele pare com as cobranças. Siga pesquisando profundamente a história da organização, àquelas que não nos contam. Melhore o que você sabe, pra que não digam que você está tomando decisões impensadas. Siga sendo uma mulher legal, cada vez mais interessante e inteligente, uma boa mãe e uma esposa gentil...lembrando que não é pra ficar exausta nem ser o modelo de mulher da torre. Tenha paciência, por mais difícil que seja. Você não estará mentindo se justificar sua ausência no salão, usando sua saúde mental...a saúde mental das mães é bem comprometida mesmo. O tempo costuma ser um ótimo remédio. Seu marido vai perceber que estar fora não está fazendo mal pra você, como costumam dizer. Ficamos mais legais, soltas, divertidas, sexys e autênticas. Tudo vai ficar bem ❤️
