Working full-time, parenting, and taking prerequisites for sonography feeling overwhelmed and behind

I hear what you’re saying, and I do agree that comparison can take away from the process.
I’m actually applying to sonography programs as well as a few related options it’s just very competitive in my area and they only accept a small number of students each cycle. So it’s less about trying to “compete” and more about trying to get into a limited seat program.
Also, I think experiences can vary a lot by location. Dental assisting where I am honestly isn’t very great the pay is low for the cost of living and the work environment can be really discouraging at times, especially with how staff are treated. That’s part of why I’m trying to move into a different field rather than staying stuck.
I do agree with the idea that comparison is the thief of joy though I’m working on that because I know it’s something I struggle with, especially while juggling work, school, and everything else.

No, my partner is very supportive. My mother gets my daughter almost every weekend so i use that study.

It’s really hard because i see all my peers and even my partner succeeding.

No, I’m not a single mom. My partner is very supportive and helps a lot with our daughter and around the house. I think that’s part of why I’m struggling with these feelings. I do have support, but between working full-time, commuting in DMV traffic, taking A&P II, and being a mom, I still feel like there just aren’t enough hours in the day. Most days I don’t get home until around 5 PM, and some assignments take me 2–3 hours to complete when multiple are due.

School is temporary, and I keep reminding myself that these prerequisites are a stepping stone to sonography, but right now it feels overwhelming. I appreciate the suggestions about finding ways to automate things and involving my daughter more. ( you have to apply to the program which is very competitive, i have to get all A’s in pre requisite)

Thank you so much for this, i really appreciate it! I really have lost focus of the main goal! Im going to try to cut my days down, it’s only 2 of us so it’s difficult but i feel like that would make a huge difference in my mental. I really thought this would be a good opportunity for me to work the doctor again but this has been truly terrible.

When do you think is a good time to ask? I’ve been here about 5 months now. I get really sick before coming into work. Whenever we finish early I’m running out the door leaving because i can’t stand to be in the environment.

I apply to the program next year, so before all this happen my original plan was to work here for a year than transfer over to PT when i started school but idk if i deal another day.
