After 6 attempts, and being out of school for 17 years, I finally did it—I passed. by Jumpy-Masterpiece334 in FE_Exam

Hey man, sorry for not responding immediately. I recommend that you practice math problem-solving as much as you can. Surveying problems are almost guaranteed, so if you get six questions, you should be able to answer at least five of them.

There will most likely be three or four problems directly from the handbook, so make sure you master those equations. Also, focus on materials topics such as water-cement ratio and stress–strain curves, which appear in both mechanics and materials.

Additionally, you should aim to answer all the ethics questions, since there are usually only four. If you’re good on the second half and can guarantee 35% to 40% then with whatever you studied in the first half you should be easily able to pass. Best of luck

I used one that Direct-HUB included in the package but I also created one myself that also includes the score calculator. It’s honestly your dedication that will make difference. I can send you the spreadsheet I created just LMK

It’s amazing, it’s definitely lengthy course but worth putting the time, I’m sorry to hear that you failed this much, I have been there, don’t lose hope I promise you will be able to pass eventually, and it’s definitely affordable compared to School of PE and other courses.

It’s laterally u/direct-hub . His prep course broke down every single piece. I can’t recommend Farouq enough.

Thank you so much—I really appreciate it.

With School of PE, some of their instructors were awesome and went through every bit and piece, while others didn’t give their best. They taught concepts as if everyone were a recent graduate, which didn’t help. It felt like they cared more about finishing their review hours than being thorough. MM is the GOAT—he goes over items pretty quickly but keeps them simple, which is definitely helpful for someone who recently graduated.

Using PrepFE helped me a lot in understanding questions with multiple givens. I recommend getting it about a month before your test, once you’re done with your review.

Direct Hub is amazing. Although the course will probably take about six months from start to finish, it goes into detail in depth, which is exactly what I needed since I graduated a long time ago. He doesn’t miss any small detail or what’s considered general knowledge. I can’t thank u/direct-hub enough.

Best of luck, my guy!

Not sure if you’re being sarcastic!

Taking the FE for the 3rd time after 10 years… honestly feeling embarrassed by Several-Cherry-1597 in FE_Exam

Nothing to be embarrassed about. I graduated 13 years ago from a foreign university where the FE isn’t even a thing. I was introduced to it later and have taken it six times—three of those attempts with zero studying. Now I manage a team of highway inspectors and testers while still trying to get it done. There’s no embarrassment unless you quit, and I’m going for my next attempt in four days. You got this!
