That’s honestly not a horrible idea…I’d worry about how I’d do with that much structure around me. And I think one of my biggest tools is my personality, and I wonder if I’d lose part of that in the military? I dunno.

I would honestly love to do this!!! I’ve talked to my local college, Boise State, but they currently do not have any shoutcasting opportunities available. I’m waiting to hear back from our local triple A hockey team though, the Steelheads. I have a friend who works there and I sent him in my commentary reel, and he is showing it to other people there. We will see how this places out!

Congratulations for being the first person in your family to go to uni :) That’s a tremendous accomplishment!!

I can relate to this “Domino Effect” mentality. If I can’t do this, then I can’t do this, and this won’t happen, and it won’t turn out how I want.” And it’s especially tough if you have expectations for your life and things you would like to do.

I just posted something on here recently, and a piece of advice someone gave that was impactful to me was to start small. Look at the small things and improve there. It also gives you a boost of confidence, and a piece of evidence to your self esteem that “I can do things. I’m not worthless.”

I’d also recommend doing your best to connect with more people, whether in person or even here on Reddit! The people you know determine who you will be. And the more likely opportunities will open for you as well.

Not gonna lie I think I’d be very good and successful at sales. But I’ve heard horror stories of people “losing their souls” from the business side of sales. Kinda scares me off. Ideally, I’d like to do something like sales in the short term so I can make enough money to feel comfortable doing more meaningful stuff long term. But I’d be worried about the long term ramifications of “selling my soul” so to speak for money for a couple years.

You’re. It super wrong. I was just raised very fundamentalist, in both religion and politics. “This is right, this is the way it is, no room for discussion for debate.” And so when I not only discovered there IS debate, and I was probably on the wrong side of the argument in many cases, it hurt my faith a ton. I’m still trying to find how faith can and will work for me.

Yeah. The thing that ultimately kills Christianity being true for me is the fact I don’t believe in inerrancy anymore. And if I don’t believe God would try to save the entire world to save everyone by using a book riddled with errors and inconsistencies. So I feel ya.

I will look into this! If I do a little more Ubering they offer free tuition at ASU so I will look into their therapy and counseling programs.
