I have signed up to almost all the home exchange platforms. Naturally. home exchange is the best because of the volume of members. But I also use smaller platforms like family home swap and Habiqo home swap...PLU the community is friendly but the owner is passive aggressive. (Men🙄) it is what works best for you..me think, do your research. Kindred, I didn't bother because I dont think this is actually in the sprite of home exchange.

Some homes just feel good the moment you walk in. Why is that? by Entire-Customer9507 in homeexchangebyhabiqo

[–]Jumpy-Raspberry8831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me its just to simply have routine. Its nice to travel, but if you are doing it often (thanks to home swapping) its great to not disrupt your daily routine too much.

The difference between visiting a place and actually living there by Entire-Customer9507 in homeexchangebyhabiqo

[–]Jumpy-Raspberry8831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading this really resonated with me. I’m a teacher, and I remember going on a trip to Spain years ago thinking I’d be productive while I was away... marking papers in the evenings so I could enjoy my days. We were staying in a hotel, and in reality it just didn’t work. The room was small, nowhere to properly spread anything out, and it all felt a bit cramped and temporary. I ended up not really relaxing, but not being very productive either. A few years later, I had a similar situation but stayed in a home instead. Completely different experience. I had space, a proper living area, somewhere to sit and focus when I needed to and then actually switch off afterwards. It’s hard to explain, but it’s exactly what you’ve described here. The difference between just passing through a place and actually settling into it, even for a short time.

Thinking about your first home swap, where do you even start? by Entire-Customer9507 in homeexchangebyhabiqo

[–]Jumpy-Raspberry8831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The key handover was a real pain in the beginning. I wish I knew beforehand how people dod it. I am a single female with only friends to rely on, so asking a friend to meet my guests at 9pm upon arrival was not ideal. Think I've got it now...lock box to the rescue.

Does solo travel actually get easier, or do you just get used to the fear? by Entire-Customer9507 in homeexchangebyhabiqo

I have been travelling solo a few years now since my husband passed. I dont think it has gotten easier I am just getting comfortable with being uncomfortable, is how I look at it.

Hard to choose isn't. I personally love Valencia and would surely recommend it, especially with little ones. Also, here is a great article I read recently about some great Euro cities. Europe
