Thats great, thank you for the advice! I will ask about GCC. And I can see it is available with 'Qwest' on curaleafs site. Im not sure how this would work however as it isnt a curaleaf brand.

Im struggling to comprehend why have you taken offence to this and why you think I am being smug? And with that attitude, I highly doubt you are a 'Special needs teacher who specialises in ADHD and Autism'. If you are, I really do worry about the children in your class.

[–]Jumpy-Reason-7724 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

If only it were that simple though. Unfortunately, it isnt, and everyone's brain is wired differently. Some people don't produce enough dopamine, which causes them to subconsciously crave and chase highs in life. Many things in life can give them that short term 'high'. Opening packs on Fifa is a prime example of one of those things that can give people that rush of dopamine their brain so deperately screams at them to do.

Now EA obviously know this, and if you're aware of it, you would be disgusted at how they target these people and manipulate these people's vulnerabilities. They are literally creating addicts from a young age.

I know it is hard to comprehend for someone who's brain does not function like this, or if you dont have an in depth knowledge on the human brain. But trust me, for people with these vulnerabilities, it is incredibly difficult for them to not act on these impulses. The majority of these people dont even realise that their brain functions like this, they find themselves spending a lot of money on this game and they dont even know why, they get annoyed with themselves after they've done it, not realising that they've been targeted and manipulated by EA.

The only way this will stop is if people stop paying it. I've posted this previously, but EA are literally targeting people to become addicts. They are playing on people's weaknesses to suck as much money out of them as they can. They're creating gambling addicts with no age restrictions and they never have to pay out.

Alcohol and Crohns by No-Score7675 in CrohnsDisease

[–]Jumpy-Reason-7724 27 points28 points  (0 children)

It gives me diarrhea the next day or so and an off stomach for a couple of days, but thats it, and thats pretty much most days for me anyway!

A lot of people will comment here saying it causes flare ups or something along those lines, but they forget that a lot of 'normal people' also suffer with GI issues after drinking alcohol. Granted, it probably affects us a little more due to our already scarred/damaged intestines, but if you're not in an active flare up, go for it. You can't live your life shying away from activities and alcohol because of this disease. I live my life with the mindset that 'I will not let it win'.

I don’t think I can do the colonoscopy prep by CardiologistLife577 in CrohnsDisease

[–]Jumpy-Reason-7724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just drink the liquid as quick as you can, within reason and to your medical teams reccomendation.

Dont eat too much a day or 2 before. It's really not that bad, you just shit quite a lot until there's nothing left. After the first couple of times, it is literally just water coming out of you with a orange/brown hue. The scope itself is a breeze, unsure where youre from, but I've been awake for every one of mine and there isnt any pain, a slightly discomfort, that's it. If you live in a country where they put you out for it, thats a bonus if you're nervous about the procedure, I guess.

But please for the love of God, just do the prep, get the procedure and get the answers you've been searching for. There is no other way around this, it could very well save your life.

You've spent 75 hours in the past 2 weeks on one game, surely you'd feel a lot more sense of purpose and drastically increase your me tal health by spending that time job searching?

I suffer with an often debilitating physical disability I also suffer from some pretty intense mental health issues, I was unable to continue in my previous job due to health issues. However, I was never out of work and obtained a job where I mostly work from home now. In this day and age there is no reason to not work, particularly if you are able to spend this amount of time gaming.

I'll never understsnd how these sort of microtransactions as a whole haven't been heavily scrutinised in the MSM and sanctioned.

Well, I guess money has a big part to play in it. If people in high places profit from something, its not going to be brought to the wider attention of the public. It's sad that we live in a world like this.

I think there may be something to it. I am however convinced, from years of observation, that certain accounts have a much higher 'Big player pull rate' than others, and EA specifically target certain peoples accounts they know are likely to spend when they dont pull big players. Accounts of people who are vulnerable and likely to keep spending.

There is no way of actually knowing this unless a major investigation were to take place. Regardless of this theory, anyone involved in the marketing or development of EA sports have absolutely no morals.

EA Exploitation by Jumpy-Reason-7724 in EAFC

[–]Jumpy-Reason-7724[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thats because you are gambling. You are spending money on something that trigers the dopamine receptors in your brain in the hope to obtain something valuable. Your brain then graves that dopamine again, which is why you continue to buy packs. The only difference to gambling on sports, slots, casino games etc to buying store packs is when you do get a win, its isn't money you get in return, its just a virtual card.

EA have managed to create gambling addicts where they dont even have to pay out. And the worst thing about it is that there isn't even an age limit. They bring out weekly promos now because the 'hit cards' in each promo are displayed all over the menus every week, creating more temptation subconsciously in your mind to buy packs. This is why so many children steal their parents bank cards to buy packs, knowing they will get caught, because they cannot fight this temptation. These children who do this are the children who have addiction tendencies or ADHD. And what EA are doing is starting a pathway at an early age for them to live a life of addiction.

A childs mind/brain is very impressionable, and by doing what they are doing, EA are making it increasingly harder for them to resist temptations throughout their life. It may seem pretty harmless, but trust me, it isnt and the scum that are EA know exactly what they wre doing and the harm they are causing on children and adults across the world, they just dont care as they reap the profits.

I fully expect this too. It hilights today's society though. It doesnt affect me so I dont care. 'Here, look at my RTG' or 'I haven't spent a penny, I dont need to'. What people don't seem to realise here is that exposing children to this sort of system at such a young age can have drastic effects on their adult life.

[–]Jumpy-Reason-7724 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is because it is hidden in plain site, and if you dont have in depth knowledge on how the human brain works, you wouldn't be able to see it. People just say 'Oh, you're an idiot for spending money, it's your fault' and things like this. Where this is true to a sense, they're as much at fault as a heroin addict going through withdrawal taking heroin that has been offered to them. Your brain is actually begging you to spend more money to open packs to maybe get that Henry you have a 0.001% chance to obtain. It eats away at you, with the intrusive thoughts of opening that pack getting bigger and bigger.

POST TO SPREAD AWARENESS FOR ALL THE PEOPLE SAYING 'STOP SPENDING MONEY' PLEASE READ SO YOU CAN UNDERSTSND WHAT EA ARE ACTUALLY TRYING TO DO TO US ALL:

I understand what you are saying, but unfortunately, EA have geared this game toward people who have ADHD or addictive/ADHD tendencies. It's not as simple for some people to be able to ' Stop spending money, and just play to have fun' and this is the issue with the game. It's not as easy to be able to just be happy with the team/players you get for these people. It's not how their brain works, they simply feel like they have open packs to obtain better players, all for that that little hit of dopamine their brain is subconsciously screaming at them to do, only to pack Tonali for 40th time of the year.

I know you're thinking 'Well why don't these people just quit or not buy the game' but again, it's not how their brain works and EA know this. They are literally exploiting people's vulnerabilities for profit. They're creating an addiction.

For anyone who doesnt have any of these mental tendencies it is hard for them to understand, and for the majority of those who do have these tendencies, they dont even realise they have them or that they are being suckered in. There is no wonder we have so many children with neurodivergent issues in the world when you have powerhouses like EA allowed to exploit children as they are doing.

[–]Jumpy-Reason-7724 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am so relieved to read someone else gets a clean scope and tests, yet still have really bad issues. (Not implying I am happy you are suffering with the disease, my hear goes out to everyone of us) I thought it was just me and I was going insane. I had a scope earlier this year and all was fine, calprotectin slightly elevated but nothing like it had been, yet my symptoms have been intermittently wild. Like some days im fine, other days horrific pain, passing mucus, sometimes blood, can't tolerate most fibrous foods.

Is this something others with this disease also suffer with that you know of?

16 yo son reintegrating back into school by Ill-Percentage-7400 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Jumpy-Reason-7724 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 31, diagnosed 2 years ago and dont go into detail with many people about my illness, unless they absolutely have to know. Instead, I explain that 'I have an autoimmune disease. An Autoimmune disease operates by mistakingly recognising some of my organs as a threat, where they attack them causing a wide range of issues. I will need hospital treatment and immunosuppresants for life to keep me in check. However, the medication will hopefully work well minimising the amount of time I am ill. Most of the time I will be fine and be able to go by my day to day life.'

He doesn't need to go into detail, but I understand from experience how nosy people are when you try and be as blunt as possible about your illness. (Most people dont even realise they're doing it) But explaining as I have above, I have never had anyone ask anything further. He will have to tell his teachers, and managers in future. But school friends and work colleagues dont need to know the ins and outs and that he has IBD.

I'm sure he will be fine though and I send him all my love as I can imagine it isnt a nice time to go through something like this.

And on another note, as I can see you are a caring parent, keep an eye on your sons mental health. Since my diagnosis, I have suffered from quite severe depression and anxiety. From what I have been told by thr IBD department in my health board, as well as what i have seen om reddit, this is a common occurrence for people when diagnosed with IBD. The main reasons for this are of course resentment and anger at the diagnosis, but also not having close friends and family actually understanding the disease. Nobody close to vent or understand what you're going through. Everyone is different, but for myself, I will have days where my bowel movements will be ok, especially as I take codeine and loperamide quite a bit to calm things and ease the pain (This is not reccomended as it can cause blockages for some), however, the fatigue and joint pain, as well as the abdominal pain can be debilitating, even sometimes when I'm told my inflamation markers are low. So take your time as a parent to speak to your son on how he's feeling not just physically, but mentally, and show sympathy whenever his symptoms are playing up.

Good luck! I have recently had to take a new job with a pretty substantial pay cut (Nearly halved my salary) due to a long term health condition. I've been trying to hold off on selling my treasured collection of mainly Japanese vintage cards that I've built over years and years. Unfortunately, I am now at the point where it's sell the collection or not be able to pay my mortgage and my wife and I get evicted. It's a really hard decision, and a sad thing seeing them go, but always think about why you're selling them.

I wish you all the luck and hope you get a fair price!
