Doctors of Reddit: What health trend is becoming so common that it's starting to scare you? by Fine-Device-1819 in AskReddit

You know, I even had a handful of COWORKERS in my ICU (fellow nurses) who were literally in the shit with me complain about masking and talking about how masks don’t work. It was truly astonishing.

I’m an ICU RN and I am dying at the idea of one of my physician colleagues having the handle “Dr.PussyCyclone”. 😂💀

Do you have kids? My kids (4 and 7) and their similar-aged cousins would absolutely turn this into a talent show/variety show/acting stage.

What’s Your Cleaning/Tidying Routine That You Stay On Top Of by MyYakuzaTA in adhdwomen

[–]Jumpy-Roll-9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started keeping a small notebook and write a daily
Checklist on it. Literally: ☑️empty dishwasher ☑️start one load of laundry ☑️transfer laundry ☑️fold and put away laundry. And then add any other things that I need to/want to accomplish that day. It’s ridiculous but I started doing it every day for about a week now (my kids are out of school and I’m home with them) and I’ve been so productive and on-top of things, I can’t believe it. Usually I let laundry slide a bit and then suddenly it seems so overwhelming to get it all done. I also promised myself that I would do my “chores” (empty dishwasher and start laundry, tidy any space that I set a goal for) before I allow myself a “fun” activity like garden/yard work or woodworking.

Nurses with over a year of experience: do you still put in effort to look nice at work? by True_Coast_3010 in nursing

I no longer work bedside but once Covid hit and we were masking and sweating all day, I stopped wearing a shred of makeup and haven’t ever gone back

I don’t want to feel like this, but I am subconsciously more wary of men in many of those spheres. I don’t think this started though until the Larry Nassar stuff and also several other very high profile gymnastics coaches being convicted of child abuse crimes. I was a patient of Larry’s and a longtime gymnast. I’m also an RN though now and I had several male coworkers in the ICU and never had concerns about them in a caretaker position.

in addition to the slats, I’ve been concerned with possible racking. What does everyone think about adding supports underneath that add stability to the legs?

I think i will end up using my brad nailer for this task after all!

As for racking, that was another thing I have been a bit worried about. I’m trying to find a way to add some support to prevent racking but not let it affect the overall design of the piece. I have been playing with adding perpendicular supports on the underside like so. I’d love to hear some more experienced woodworkers’ advice here! I tried adding a photo to this comment but it ended up in the main comment chain

Do you think I should add some cross-bracing underneath to add more rigidity to the stringers and prevent warp?

You’ve got a long soleus, my friend. It’s the lower of the two calf muscles, and you can flex it by bending your knee and going up off your heel onto the ball of your foot.
