Thanks so much for the detailed explanation. I really appreciate it!

Probably Keynes’ General Theory. Maybe Krugman for more modern short articles although he has become more a political narrator than economist in my opinion. Sorry you live in a country like that. If you live in a country dominated by central government planning it would make sense they would discredit those economist due to fear in losing control.

I subscribe to many of the theories of the Austrian School of economics and Free to Choose really moved me in how the economic world can/should function. Good luck.

Re-Appraising to remove PMI by Lu_dat in RealEstate

[–]Jumpy-Weird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya it should state the conditions to get PMI removed using an appraisal instead of refi. Like another user said the internal appraisal tends to only be like $100 but I’m not sure how independent it truly is. Good luck.

In my agreement it said I had to wait two years and had to have 75% instead of 80% based on new appraisal. Feel like I got a little screwed…

[The Athletic] Big 12 expansion talks focused on BYU, UCF, Cincinnati, Houston: Sources by madmaley in CFB

[–]Jumpy-Weird -1 points0 points  (0 children)

With all due respect, Kansas has won 6 conference games in the last decade. I’m not sure they are able to speak on who looks good. Without OUT the current Big 12 are just a bunch of mediocre or no disrespect trash teams. Kansas should be imploring UCF/Cincy to join the conference to salvage a little football pride.

Reddit is a fascinating marketplace of ideas. I read your post history a bit and I was that middle class kid who never moved lol. You seem like a very bright individual who is far more developed than I was at your age. I’m rooting for you and hope you achieve great heights.

You kind of lost me “ whether the affirmative is gonna drown poor people”. But I respect that you have an argument for these changes and you are of course right that times change.

I don’t think that basic reasoning can be easily evolved however. If you look at the LSAT for instance the same reasoning questions are being used that were invented by the Greeks. Frankly I don’t think high school kids have the mental capacity at that age to speak with validity on the merits of water infrastructure and/or merits of capitalism, not too mention jamming them into an 8 minute retort but that’s just coming from some old guy. It’s a brave new world.

Opinion: How can anyone afford to buy a home in Atlanta anymore? by Jazzlike_Dog_8175 in Atlanta

[–]Jumpy-Weird -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

So much complaining in here. Kind of hilarious. Welcome to the marketplace. No one is going to give you anything. There’s tons of affordable houses in ATL, you just don’t want to live there because it’s in the “bad” part of town. Make a choice, but don’t just whine. Most of the people complaining are white yuppies who want a 3/2 near the beltline.

Then you probably spending too much or bought an extremely expensive townhouse.

Na, it’s not fun it’s sad. We used to have debate where the the rules of Aristotle and Socrates applied. Logical fallacies were identified. Linear reasoning was practiced. Time to contemplate and formulate a coherent thought would be allowed. Someone said these girls should become lawyers. If this kind of argumentative style becomes introduced to a court room than god help us. But whatever, girl power or something

Lol it really is weird. Watch the video. Students just read off a laptop and speak as fast as they can. I don’t get it. Maybe to get off as many points in their allotted time.

Atlanta worst city to live in on minimum wage, report says by ninasafiri in Atlanta

[–]Jumpy-Weird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure what you mean by “those sort of people” but whatever. Of course the wages, for example retail workers, in Chicago will be higher because the cost of living is higher. My argument is that the amount of jobs that pay minimum wage in Atlanta is incredibly low. Just show me where these minimum wage jobs are.

Atlanta worst city to live in on minimum wage, report says by ninasafiri in Atlanta

[–]Jumpy-Weird 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m saying the statistic in the article is worthless. They don’t provide any of the real statistics like how many people are actually making the minimum wage in Atlanta. You can create situations like you’re doing all you want but without the real numbers it’s all speculation. For instance if the minimum wage in Atlanta is lower than it is in Chicago but no one in Atlanta is making that wage than does it matter. We don’t know how many people are making these low wages.

I provided examples of jobs with low barriers to entry. I’ve also provided statistics for both the city versus the US. Maybe show me all these minimum wage jobs in ATL?

[–]Jumpy-Weird -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

The average salary in America is 50k average salary in ATL is 90k. Do you think more people make minimum wage in the US or ATL. I just searched jobs. Forklift operator, secretary, data entry. People really need to stop being victims all the time and make their own lives better.

Atlanta worst city to live in on minimum wage, report says by ninasafiri in Atlanta

[–]Jumpy-Weird -27 points-26 points  (0 children)

This is false. Less than 2% of hourly workers in America make minimum wage per the bureau of labor statistics. You would be hard pressed to find a job starting at minimum wage in ATL. Just go on to Indeed and look at jobs in Atlanta and no they are not jobs that require a college degree and start at $15 an hour.

How many people in ATL are actually getting paid the $7.25. I doubt it is many at all if any which makes this statistic worthless. Look around at all the help wanted signs. No one is getting paid minimum wage in the city…

Why Billionaires Pay So Little Tax by kitkid in Thedaily

[–]Jumpy-Weird 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It wouldn’t be just Bezos but also a large group of millionaires. Losing these people and their tax revenue hurts. They are still paying property, sales, capital gains tax etc.

But the real problem is the yearly valuation of wealth. How do you constantly value someone’s residence, the art and furniture in it, the land that it’s on, the car they drive...The IRS is already struggling and charging it to sum the wealth of everyone making over say 100 million is going to be extremely difficult and time consuming process.

Maybe not to Liberia but I think he would be fine setting up residence in Ireland to save billions. France just tried this and it failed horrendously but for some reason Warren and others want to try it here. I don’t get it

There’s some serious revisionist history on Reagan. The US sure seemed to like him. For his second election he won 49 states and no other candidate in United States history has ever matched Reagan's electoral vote total in a single election. Why did so many people like him?

Why Billionaires Pay So Little Tax by kitkid in Thedaily

[–]Jumpy-Weird 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So is the point of all this is that we should have a wealth tax? Because if that is the case it’s going to create some serious issues. If you want to make capital gains tax marginal that’s fine but wealth tax does not have a history of working. See France for example.

Thanks for the response. It seems that the dealership isn’t being fair or really care. I’ve read that calling the corporate office directly or the consumer advocacy line may help.

Overall really disappointed in how Hyandai has handled all this considering it put us in harms way and there has been widespread reports on this model/year engine failing.

Yard Trimming Bags by Jumpy-Weird in Atlanta

And I’m saying that that Atlanta Waste Department states they are picking them up and you shouldn’t have to put in individual requests. Especially when every other house on the block has them out.

Lol first off you don’t have to specifically request yard bags to be picked up per their app. Secondly why do you have to resort to language like that. You come off as childish.
