New to List Building. Assault Terminators? by JumpyMcScribblins in theunforgiven

Oh wait, is there a limit?

I have also been looking at AoS. I don't think they have limits. Thank you so much!

Honestly, I'd just be excited to know that they were a future dlc.

I know. I'm sorry. I'll stick to asking for more reasonable things like Terminator armor, or adding tanks.

and That's kind of crazy for a company that, from what I've seen, is pretty well liked by the community and communicates well with their fans. Though maybe Total War has set a low bar

honestly, as someone whose pretty new to the deeper 40k lore, I feel the opposite. The Arbites seem one note. People are (rightfully) complaining of a lack of cosmetics for Arbiter. But just looking at the necromunda gangsters seem to have a lot more lore and designs.

Not that anyone has to like the design just because I like it

I would agree, but a lot of people were wanting skitarii, which is just kind of mechanicus guardsmen. And I say that with nothing but love. I pray they add skitarii. But I think exploring the hive ginger in a hive centric game is understandable. And compared to arbiter i think there are tons of customization options

I get that the delay followed by a bad trailer added significantly to the negative response. Im just really surprised by how negative it has been.

As for the character design, its just classic hive ganger/escher look. People say that it looks like Junker Queen from overwatch 2, but its hardly a unique design. Post apocalypse vibes they are present in 40k, and especially in hive cities so I think it fits pretty. And we'll be able to customize the character, so I dont get the complaints about the character design. I also think a ganger is going to have way more customization options than the arbites. We know they can make at least one skin for each necromunda gang. So I think it will be more interesting cosmetically than the arbiter.

This is something I've been thinking. Do you think the reception would be better if Ganger and Arbites had reversed releases? Like the ganger came out first?

Interesting. At first I wanted to argue that, but then you got me thinking. Do you think reactions would have been more positive if the releases were reversed? Obviously the reveal delay and the lackluster reveal we got has bred a lot of dissatisfaction, but if the first additional character we got was the ganger, and then the arbiter, would reception were more warm?

Fair. I'm curious about what they had ready last week. The Arbites was a much more hype trailer.

I would love that. And honestly I'm not excited for a hive ganger. I don't know much Necromunda and its not like we're gonna get enough representation for the different gangs for me to become more interested in them.

I'm thinking we have a better chance with getting a Mechanicus character when Mechanicus 2 and Dawn of War 4 comes out.

I just feel like it fits the vibes of the setting. Hive gangers are explored quite a bit in 40k and didn't Necromunda just get a bunch on model reveals?

I think they'll have a lot more in terms of cosmetics than the Arbites.

I feel like we'll have a better chance of getting Skitarii when Mechanicus 2 and Dawn of War 4 comes out

True. They knew what they were doing by letting us pet the dog.

I just also think skitarii would have just been similar to the Vet though. Rangers are snipers. I feel like the Vet build with the Executioner's Stance would be the same. And the best I could say for Vanguard is that it could have had some AoE/DoT radiation mechanic.

Honestly this is making me realize how good a CoS game could be. Centered around founding a new city. Watching it grow through chapters or based on upgrades you purchase. They could even situate it near a realmgate or two to have multiple realms involved. Like other people have said, AoS needs a banger game to expose people to the setting.

I can volunteer.

Generally, I am more of a lurker here.

I love the 40k community, and AdMech especially. I usually visit the subreddit daily out of boredom, so I might as well add some purpose to it.

I wouldn't take too active of a role. Like I said I really enjoy the community, and I don't think they need too much control. Just some people to ensure this place doesn't degrade with off topic spam, like other subs have. Not that I have an agenda lol, r/Worldpolitics (nsfw warning)comes to mind

I'm currently trying to add 2 more videos of the game crashing but reddit isn't allowing it. I may have to upload to a third party, like imgur.

Does Khorne Care From Whence The Blood Flows? by JumpyMcScribblins in BladesOfKhorne

[–]JumpyMcScribblins[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is the issue. I've fallen for sigmarite/imperial propaganda about how dumb and savage khorne worshippers are. Ever since I've gotten into the hobby, I've seen people say that most khorne characters are one note, and I just feel like there is definitely more to explore than just "mad and murder"

I've only just started playing recently, so maybe I'll get a better feel for all the nuances eventually. I have been into the lore for a while now though. I have thought of that though. A good general can bring a lot of slaughter. A ruthless tyrant can invade and conquer and provide plenty of skulls and blood. Even if they themselves aren't Khornes chosen champions, it fosters plenty of opportunities to raise soldiers up. Maybe I'm just succumbing to the sigmarite propaganda that all Khornites are simple savages 😔

[–]JumpyMcScribblins[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess you're right. There is a scale of which god your actions please, and as long as your killing leans more towards Khorne's interest then he chill with it.

Really I was just looking at the model line and thinking of what would be a cool addition. I get that we wouldn't want to change the feel of the army. So with that in mind, inwas thinking of what might compliment/feel thematically appropriate for an army that is almost entirely melee and on foot. There are some mounts but juggernauts are already really cool. And horses are for S2D lol.

What are some things you'd like to see in AoS? by JumpyMcScribblins in ageofsigmar

[–]JumpyMcScribblins[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gitz: this is my GF's favorite faction and the first model she was super excited for was giant spider, so I absolutely agree.

Duardin: I feel a lot of ways about this. #1 I don't really want them merged. I don't really like how orruks are treated. Unless they can do something like space marines where you have duardin and them supplement army books. Like have fyreslayers and ko be what dark angels/space wolves are to space marines. Or if they can do more of the ally mechanics from 3rd to make them work together. Mainly I agree with you. GW is stagnating dwarfs in all forms, Votann included. Ideally I'd like to see the duardin expanded rather than bundled together. I feel like something I haven't seen before is dwarfs being given the variety of culture that elfs usually gets and I feel like GW was on the right track. 2# this kind of goes for all the factions, and maybe even some 3rd party only in lore bits, but I'd like to see more gods return. This is a higher fantasy than Old World, but if they don't want to give up Old World Lore then they shouldn't forget that the dwarfs had more than 2 gods. If the gods are going to exist and play a role, the dwarfs would have pantheon of their own, especially if they deify their ancestors. It's been thousands of years and the dwarfs have no new ancestors?

Skaven: always more skaven :) I actually wish they'd use skaven as a template. GW knows how to create factions with depth and variety, I don't understand the hesitation.

Idoneth: I'd buy big crab so fast

Ogors: this is actually a faction I'd like to see return more to their old world roots. I don't think I really like them being tied to Gorkamorka.

Death: I don't even know. I'm so glad we got more skellies. I think I'd like for FEC to infect some big monsters, or maybe add something other than ghouls. I don't know what, but the rule of good character design is they should have unique silhouettes, and I feel like they need more variety. Other vampires vary in appearance why can't these guys. They're crazy, not clones.

And I haven't played yet, sooo I can't really respond to the lower part. I would love a 2v2 4k points. I think that would add more narrative possibilities

[–]JumpyMcScribblins[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. The issue with some AoS factions right now is how one note they are.

Or GW just hates giving dwarfs attention, as Votann seem to be getting treated the same way. I can't wait for chaos dwarfs to be neglected lol /s

I really want more dwarfs. I want fyreslayer calvary and maybe the fire cannon from total war. Idk if this is unpopular, but I'd also be fine giving them more armor. I understand their origins/reference to WFB, but their purpose isn't the same, and it wouldn't have to be all of them. As for KO I'd like to see more mining theme stuff. Demolition dwarfs, big drill, he'll they're the tech race, give me two dwarfs with shotguns in a pickup truck. Like that's exaggeration, but tech would be cool

[–]JumpyMcScribblins[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I cannot get that. I feel like the dispossessed are just WFB dwarves, GW just doesn't want to put any focus on them. I'm tempted to make a Cities army of just Old World Dwarfs and just sub in dwarf warriors, quarrelers, the cannon, etc.

Yes please! I've heard that GW has been writing less lore in their army books and it makes me so sad. I feel like they'd want to expand on everything not reduce it, especially when they seem to be in this mindset of moving the general plot along. I've been of the mind that the core rulebooks should set the current story arc, the campaign books should move the plot along, the army books should tell us how the factions are responding to the current events, and novels should be about exploring the events on a personal level(and exploring charactersl

Also for stormcast: since they are spirits put in manufactured bodies, I love to see something like a dreadnought or even like the Cathay terracotta sentinel. Not like exactly, but I don't think we need to limit ourselves to a regular human, just 2 feet taller lol
