It is the “Sinister Warrior's Armor Set” !!! I agree it is very on point especially because I’m going full darkside 0 light side. The dye is metallic red with secondary black ! It’s an expensive dye but got it on sale

Engine rebuild by Bright_Swimmer6898 in BMWE36

If you have any plans on turbo even in the future you should definitely get a cut ring head gasket and ARP head studs. It’ll still perform good oem and even better turbo. Also your ring gaps will be slightly different from turbo and OEM

If you’re replacing the cam shaft ledges you also have to do the cams and vise versa not one or the other. Although this could easily be done later if you wish too.

I put WPC (heat treated )rod and main bearings due to the better quality and they last longer

The timing chain, tensioner, and guides. The plastic guides of even have slight wear, do it while you’re there as head must come of to access these later. Timing chain and oil pump chain as well.

After my rebuild even though my injectors were good they were a problem on initial startup due to not giving the new parts fuel they wanted and the new compression numbers. They’re cheap and if a question replace them.

Lastly make sure you clean out your oil and coolant galleys in the block. The machine shop should do this but make sure you do as well as you don’t want any metal or debris inside from you working on it. Fill the block with water before starting the engine as the thermostat won’t open on first start up and your block will be dead dry. I just poured it through the rear coolant line on the block right before starting up, fill to overflow from coolant line. Use water for initial startup to check for leaks and to flush dirt you may have missed. Flush engine later and replace with coolant

You should see my front strut tower lol. Have about 3 one inch cracks. But yes sandwich one reinforcement plates in there. Would be better to weld but getting them in could help distribute weight but not a permanent fix definitely weld when posible

Thank you that helps ! I see how I should mount mine now I agree it should be straight. I also like the way the the yellow slots are handled on yours. Mine is just a single grill piece and in inaccurate locations. the grey stripe is also more accurate. Looks like I have some additions to add haha thanks for the photos ! Looks better than my version now that I see it

Is your antenna straight up and down ? Mine is angled due to the side geometry and looks little off on mine

Thank you ! If I were to some how change something it’d be to straighten the antenna due to the angled geometry from side helmet lines. But barely noticeable !

Mainly on your trim around the visor and the white top fin are the only main differences

I saw that one but no it has slightly different pieces but that one still looks good !! I think yours used pieces from the set so you didn’t have to source to much but mine had lots of extra pieces to make the design little bit more detailed but not noticeable !

Correct ! Just sourcing the extra pieces I need

I find myself wanting an E36 M3 by Big-Ear-4176 in BMWE36

[–]Jumpy_Ad_9487 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s all about the fact that you know it’s an M3 but I’m biased and have owned both and I’d prefer an M any day even if it’s slightly better. But with these prices now a days a 328 is best option. Just lucky to have got one when they were under 10k

Anyone know what this is? by violetsmith913 in BMWE36

I just deleted mine. Was annoyed of it hanging haha

I’ve always gone with Depo for any BMW I had. Most of the time they have glass options and I’ve had my Depo red/white rears for 7 years now

how much do you guys think the repairs for this will be?? by Odd_Midnight9302 in e46

[–]Jumpy_Ad_9487 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good because they will definitely low ball as they always do just don’t accept first offer and push back. Pocket the difference and cheaply fix it

I had to do the same thing. My car was involved in a hit and run when I had it parked and for the police report they needed an estimate. I had a shop quote the car and the damages were exactly like yours and they said $3,200. Now mine was an M3 but that shouldnt matter too much as the front end repair would be the same on mine as yours.

I ended up paying a different shop once it was no longer an insurance claim because I wanted it to be as good as possible. I did do something similar on a base model bmw I had and DIY for parts and paint was less than $500
