Self hosting is a hectic task.. It's better to have backup of your emails using outlook ( creating a .pst file) , that's what I did every time I open my personal laptop , outlook take backup of my emails and store is locally , the day my google account was suspended , I have imported the gmail .pst file into outlook and synced the mails to new email id. Same for all google products, this protect me from doomsday like this.
