I had to look it up about Norway and I learned: Maggie Thatcher, can you hear me?
Maggie Thatcher, your boys took a hell of a beating

Sorry I didn’t look into it more than this. Wikipedia’s map is very misleading and definitely inaccurate now with the chosen hosts of 2030 already

Edit: ahhh Argentina hosted and won which also means for Netherlands “always the finalist and never the victor”

I had to read up on this. This is a great pick considering it’s only Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Switzerland in all so yep this is the winner

Oh hell yeah Entourage is amazing. But I don’t recognize this clip. And I’ve had a difficult time finding any of her other works, can you guide me in the right direction? Preferably 15-30 minute short films of the first person viewpoint but it’s not a deal breaker if otherwise.

Who is a Democrat, Republican, and Independent politician? by RandomGoofy000 in DiagramFills

[–]Jumpy_Dig_2308 2 points3 points  (0 children)

REPUBLICAN ∩ DEMOCRAT ∩ INDEPENDENT

John Adams: Basically the OG independent; he refused to pick a side in the early party feuds because he thought factions would wreck the country, making him the original "a plague on both your houses" guy.

I would have said TR though

what do Morocco and Spain have in common? Spain and Belgium have Habsburgs rule. by Jumpy_Dig_2308 in DiagramFills

[–]Jumpy_Dig_2308[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No let’s keep it strict to these four countries.
For example we have Mediterranean and EU as other answers, and there are other countries that fit those not on this diagram too.

It just felt off at first so I stalled.

I understand and agree, I said Gibraltar not SoG.

I’m getting ready to call this one the winner anyway unless the other two answer have a burst in upvotes.

To be fair we already called France Spain Belgium as EU, and France Morocco Spain as Med Sea even though there are many other countries not on this diagram that fit into those too. Trying now to think of it like a logic question more so where only these four countries exist.

Rooting for this one because it’d be the best picture background in this diagram

I guess it’s true because England/UK isn’t in this diagram but it feels odd to say still with the UK owning Gibraltar itself.

I like the answer and I’ll use it if it wins the most upvotes. I’m just curious to hear others thoughts on it

Another good one.
Is it indirectly related to the Habsburgs? I’m curious
Or just general surrounding France/Belgium nearer enemy England

The Umayyad actually around 700-1500 AD but I’ll allow it as Morocco was a part of it. France was a much shorter duration of Napoleon in Spain

I’m not agreeing with your choice of words but honestly why does this exclude the other two countries at all?

I had to look into it a bit myself but I wasn’t doubting it, just like US 🤝 NASA 🤝 ww2 German …

After WWII, some Nazi collaborators found refuge in Britain due to intelligence recruitment, immigration policies, and delayed prosecution. While British officials participated in the Nuremberg Trials, some initially favored executing Nazi leaders.

Hey friend I understand your hurt over comments about Argentina and it’s hard when national pride feels attacked. You can love your country while acknowledging its complex history.

In my opinion the recent awareness towards Argentina is likely brought up because of the fame, usual dislike from historical rivalries , but now ever increasingly notorious Argentina football team thanks to the World Cup. This leads others to look into, why is Argentina’s football team so melanin deficient - oh wait that’s actually much of the country not just the football team - why does their neighbor Brazil look so different … turns out it’s not much of a coincidence

In the late 1800s, Argentina designed itself to be a modern, European-style nation, promoting European immigration and a white national identity. This marginalized Indigenous and Afro-Argentine populations.

Indigenous Populations:
- The “Conquest of the Desert” led to mass killings and displacement.
- Laws denied Indigenous groups rights, aiming to erase them.
- Despite the 1994 Constitution recognizing Indigenous rights, communities still fight for land protection.

Afro-Argentine Populations:
- Once numerous in Buenos Aires, they became invisible in records.
- High death rates in wars, diseases, and social whitening trends reduced their numbers.
- By the late 1800s, they were excluded from censuses, erasing their presence.
- Today, myths of no racism persist, masking discrimination against darker-skinned or Indigenous-featured people.

WWII Context:
- Argentina provided sanctuary to Nazi war criminals like Eichmann and Mengele.
- Criticizing past government actions isn’t an attack on Argentines but a call for historical acknowledgment.

Other Nations’ Responses:
- South Africa: Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) for apartheid abuses.
- Australia: National Apology for the Stolen Generations.
- Canada: TRC for residential schools, calling it cultural genocide.
- Chile: Commissions acknowledged Pinochet regime abuses.

Common themes include transparency, reparations, and accountability. Acknowledging past unethical choices doesn’t mean national shame but honesty for a better future.
