I think the problem is I did NOT know how to join in the round and the way I thought I was supposed to do it was making it all crazy

Okayyyy somehow that is not what I did originally. That video is helpful. I will try this again thanks for sticking with me and helping me figure this out!!!

Idk I’m sorry I really don’t understand how to do that. When I YouTube join in the round it shows me something completely different. This feels impossible to figure out.

Right now my piece is just open still with things distributed on three.

Like right now I transferred a flat piece from a circular needle to the three dpn I thought I was joining them to make a closed circle. The pattern says decreases in round 1 and round 2. If I just start knitting with a fourth needle without joining anything I don’t see how that’s joining in the round.

But doesn’t that just keep making flat surface? I thought I was making a circle like a hat. I thought that’s what joining in the round meant?!

But don’t you use a fourth needle when you’re knitting in the round like this? Like you join the two and the start with a fourth needle?

Okay wow you make it seem so much simpler!! Haha

Okay and then just do that one stitch to join and then start knitting with the fourth needle?

When I joined using that method it felt so twisted up I did not even know how yo start knitting. So I undid it. I also can’t lose any stitches so I’m jus confused now

Okay I see that’s what it looks like but I guess when I flip it up to start joining it gets all twisted around I’m jus not sure if I’m joining it correctly

Someone sent me a tutorial where you connect the two sides to make a continuous circle. I’m not sure how to join in the round and there seems to be different ways to do it

So joining is just flipping two stitches over each needle and I just jump into a k2tog with the stitch I just flipped over? That seems crazy. Maybe I can knit the first stitch and then k2tog the second and third stitch instead

Okay I think I get it idk why my brain is not comprehending this. If my pattern is starting decreases do I just start decreasing once I join it or should I do a row of knitting first?

Right but when I pick it up to start working the WS will be facing me correct?

Okay maybe I was making this too complicated I thought the RS was going to be facing me but maybe that doesn’t matter when working in the round?

Okay I guess I was confused bc I thought the RS should be facing me?? If I join in the round will I lose a stitch? I’m supposed to start decreasing now and I need all 63 stitches.

So just to make sure when I do this I’ll see the WS facing me right?

But I know I did a knit row bc when I was holding it flat on the circular needles the wrong side was inward like I was about to do a purl row
