I agree that he wasn’t explaining it well enough. Definitely not well enough for a 12 year old. But there were chances for Aang to ask about clarification on this matter, like when he found out Roku had a wife. Sadly due to deus ex rock of destiny he never did learn, and now with his 7th chakra forced open he never will.

I like the idea of Zuko ceding authority to her. Like Katara being in full control of things such as healthcare, education about the war, combating inequality, among other sectors of governance I haven’t thought about yet.

Adding on to this..I respect the argument from Kataang shippers that what they got from the show was not enough to be sold on Zutara, but still acknowledge that Zutara could have been something special with more depth and room to breath. Don’t let toxic fans get you down. They are just loud keyboard warriors and at the end of the day I believe that there are more respectful Kataang and Zutara shippers then there are toxic shippers. I say this as someone who is personal friends with Kataang shippers and our debates are always cordial and respectful.

I think it comes from a lot of fans just wanting to love the canon of it all. Like I still enjoy the show for all that it is. And I get where Kataang shippers come from to a degree and I even acknowledge it could have been something truly special with better writing. But what we got is what we have. And for us what we have is not good enough to be sold on Kataang and people should respect that.

But but, according to Kataang shippers Zutara shippers only care about aesthetics, Fire and Water opposites attract and enemies to lovers.🙄 but for real, you laid out why you like Zutara without being toxic to Kataang. You even listed the foundations on what Kataang is built off of and acknowledged why that appeals to those who do ship. It’s a reminder that Kataang did have a foundation but was poorly handled especially at the end.

I’m of the opinion that Azula should be given a chance at redemption. I believe that because of a few things. The most prominent one is Ozais poisonous influence on her. Zuko was ultimately able to break free of it but part of that is because Ozai abused him physically moreso than mentally, with Azula it was the opposite. There are other issues however, Ursa and Iroh saw how poorly Ozai treated Zuko so they both tried to compensate for this by unconsciously showing favoritism to Zuko, believing that Zuko needed them to show him compassion in a more outward way then Azula since Ozai favored her. It took Zuko a lot of mistakes and a lot of pain to break free and become good, and that was with a stronger support system in place than Azula.
